How to arrange your programs in special folders

Old (not fit now) 17 years since publication

 Have you been using a phone that allows you to arrange your files and programs in special folders, and after you moved to the iPhone, you noticed that you lack this feature? Or are you tired of moving between the pages of the large number of programs you have installed! With the Categories program, you will be relieved of the trouble of moving between pages, and the program enables you to create special folders easily. The Categories program allows you to put your programs in folders that you create and name yourself, whether they are downloaded from the software store or from Cydia or from anywhere else.

After downloading the program from Cydia, and opening the program for the first time, an alert message will appear, alerting you that you must know how to use the program correctly in order not to run into any problems. The programs are generally simple and easy to handle.

After that you can create and name folders by pressing icon   A window will appear for you to write the folder name.

 

After that, a window will appear for you to choose an icon for the folder that you created.

After that, the folder will be created, and when you click on it, you will be able to add programs inside it. By clicking on   A list of installed and not added programs will appear in any other folder, choose the program you want to add, the program will be added to the folder automatically, when finished, press  .

After you have finished adding programs to the folders, you can click on the icon   Or by pressing the main iPhone button to make the program configure to apply the changes, just a few seconds.

 

After that, the programs will be in your own folders :) When you enter to browse the folder from the interface, you will be able to browse the programs inside it, and by clicking on any program, you will be able to run it.

When entering any folder in the Categories program, you can delete it   Or rearrange programs  .

By clicking on the icon   You will be able to access the program settings that enable you to change the way the programs are displayed or show the labels, background, font color, etc. from the display settings.


Notes:
- When the phone's memory is consumed, the program will close automatically, but you will not lose any change that you make because the program saves the changes automatically.
- The program may lose speed in opening folders, but its current speed is very good.
- To be able to delete folders, you must delete the programs inside them.
- When you perform a Restore for your phone, the programs that were placed in folders will not appear on the iPhone interface. So you have to reinstall the program and rearrange the programs. Or, to avoid this problem, you can delete programs from folders before the Restore process.
- I don't know if there is a limit to the number of folders or programs added inside them! I think there is no specific limit. (Currently I have 6 folders with 128 programs inside them) 🙂

The program is available for free in Cydia. Just search for Categories.

    As for restarting the device, note that there is really slow, but it never reaches more than two minutes, specifically one minute and 45 seconds each time, of course it was not delayed and reaches 30 minutes! (It's weird). This delay pose no problem for me as I rarely restart the device.
    Throughout my experience, I have not encountered any "serious" problems. I have not seen any serious problems that the phone may cause, but as I said at the beginning of the topic, the program itself displays an alert message for you that you must improve the use of the program or else it may cause a problem for your device!

    Brother Khaled, you can synchronize with the computer in order to save all the programs that you have downloaded. From iTunes, you can choose the programs that you see on your phone without completely deleting them from your personal computer so that you can return them to the phone whenever you want.
    Of course, the format is up to what you see fit according to the personal need, but there is a program called QuickGold that allows you to quickly access the programs (there is an official alternative in the new update No. 3)

    You will not lose any of the programs even if you perform a restore, my dear brother. Just enter the program and delete the programs and then the folders before the restore process, or easier than that, install the program and add the programs to their previous folders. They will be there but will not appear in the main interface because the program moved them to the folders. If you perform a restore, the previous settings will remain saved :)

    I do not think it was affected, for my experience I did not find any difference in the performance of the device and I did not encounter any problem because its presence only does not affect the phone's RAM.
    Perhaps if the iPhone is full or there is not a lot of space left, this can affect the device (talk about the capacity of the iPhone 8 or 16 GB)
