Today I will talk about the wonderful features in the iPhone or iPad that people with special needs need, and here in particular [the deaf, the dumb and the blind] who need such features, of course we talked about most of them individually, but we would like to star them in one article useful to our brothers. Some of what I will mention, we can all benefit from it if we want and enjoy its advantages ... What a beautiful gift to your brother and your relative who needs to activate such features or to tell him those features if he has an iPhone to interact with his device more.
Definitions: (Deaf : Hearingless only, Dumb Only speechless and able to hear, The blind: Visually impaired)

The first feature is custom vibrations:
We can all see the name of the caller except for the blind, and we can all hear the tone except for the deaf and we can all sense the vibration, and in the new update to iOS 5, this new feature was released that benefits the deaf in particular and for the general population. Use it if you put the device on silent with activating the vibration where you can create a custom vibration for a specific contact and unify the vibration for the rest according to your desire, meaning that it is possible to specify a specific vibration such as if you specify a specific tone for a specific person so that you know that he is the one calling you when the mobile is in your pocket or in your hands This feature is only for voice calls and unfortunately it is not found in messages, and it is the main means of communication and also it is not supported. Which he probably does not notice.
To enable this, go to Settings> General> Accessibility

Then you do custom vibrations

To create a custom vibration, do the following:
1 Go to Contacts and select the person you want to vibrate, then press Edit at the top and scroll down a little, and you will find the vibration

2 Select from existing or choose to create a new vibration

3 Now, master the creation of vibration by pressing and holding down or clicking as you wish:

4 When you are finished, play it. If you do not like it, click on Record, and after configuring the vibration, click on Save at the top, create a label for the vibration, and press Done.

To create a default custom vibration for all contacts, go to Settings, choose sounds, and turn on the vibrate alert:

From the same list of sounds, scroll down at the end of the page, the option of vibration, choose from the existing one, or create a new vibration, as I explained earlier.
The second feature to flash the flash for alerts:
It is a beautiful feature for the deaf, as if he leaves his device on the table and someone calls him or sends him a personal message or an alert, the camera flash will blink to alert a call or message and the like, but he will see the flash flash, which is a very useful feature that was previously explained in My brother's article "Bin Sami" in details.

Among its shortcomings:
XNUMX- The flash is on the back and we always put the phone on its back (usually from us or to protect the screen from scratches), so we do not take advantage of it, and also if your phone is in your pocket, you will not see it.
XNUMX- Through the responses and comments in Bin Sami's article, I found it embarrassing because of its association with photography.
The third feature of FaceTime:
![]()
Perhaps it is not new, but it is very useful to the deaf and to you alike, as communicating through it is very useful, with high technology and clarity, and without additional cost when the Wi-Fi network is available and activated through Settings> FaceTime> then enter the mobile number and email.

Hint: You must activate the phone number from Settings> Phone> My Phone Number> and write the phone number beginning with a plus, then the country code, then your mobile number.

Unfortunately, however, this service was not activated despite the great benefit in some Arab countries, and some turned to alternative programs that provide video calling via Wi-Fi, as well as the three-geeks such as Skype and Fring.
Fourth feature iMessage:

The messages we all know and do not need an explanation. As for iMessage, it is a service made available for iOS devices to exchange messages for free, provided that there is an update iOS 5 and higher for all devices and may soon be included in the Mac devices.
To enable it, go to Settings> Messages> Activate iMessage

The fifth feature is shortcuts:

As we said earlier, the main way of communication for deaf people is text messages Her explanation has been published previously And it contains most of the characteristics of the new update, including abbreviations, as it can be used to speed up the writing process and shorten the time and memorize frequently used words and sentences such as (peace be upon you, good morning, good evening, I am busy, I will call you later) where he can put a letter with a number to abbreviate the sentence To be used, you can use Settings> General> Keyboard> Add a new shortcut, which you can find at the bottom of the list.
Of course, we do not forget the existing programs and their wonderful features (Safari for browsing and its features, notepad, mail, calendar). I did not touch upon it for its fame and knowledge of its content and usefulness for all. Or discover something new.
And what I wrote is not all the existing features, but from my research and my modest experience with the iPhone, and if you know anything more, dear reader, share it with us in the comments and responses.
