One of the things that most annoys users of different devices when moving to the iOS system is their inability to transfer files between each other, as they are used to transferring images and audio files. But Apple has been repeatedly rejecting this matter for many reasons, whether for security reasons or the absence of a "file manager", or even to protect intellectual property, which causes the transfer of files to violate them. In iOS 7, Apple decided to provide AirDrop service on its devices.

The AirDrop service is well known by Apple Mac users, as it appeared with the 10.7 system more than two years ago, and it enables us to transfer files between Apple devices quickly, as they depend on Wi-Fi networks. And in June of this year, Apple announced that it will be available in iOS 7 on the following devices:
- IPhone 5s / 5c / 5
- IPad mini and 4
- IPod touch 5
AirDrop will work with the same idea of working on Mac devices, as it will enable you to send files and photos via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. As for how it works, it is as follows:
1
Choose what you want to send, whether it is a site or a group of photos, and press the share button:

2
Choose AirDrop - it will turn blue - and in seconds you will see people around you who are using the same Wi-Fi network you are connected to - or activate the Bluetooth service - so choose who you want to send to

3
It will appear to the other person that you want to send a file to him and he will see that file and he will agree

5
In seconds it will be what I sent to the other.

FAQs
AirDrop is not on my device, what should I do?
The service is automatically installed on the above devices that are running the iOS 7 system. If your device is different from these devices, there is no way to activate it.
What kind of files can be sent by the service?
Apple did not specify a specific type of files, but anything you can press to share photos, audio, sites, or applications, and you can even use AirDrop in the App-Back application, as in the following picture:

Can anyone send files to me with AirDrop?
Apple has put an option that enables you to control privacy, whether by making yourself always available, just friends, or closing the service, just open Control Center and click on Airdrop and choose the settings that suit you.

Where do files received by AirDrop go?
Each file goes according to its type, so if the sender is a picture, then it is the photo album, and if a site sends you then when you receive it, Safari opens and goes to this site, and if it sends you an application, the software store opens on this application and so on.
When I use AirDrop I find Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both turned on, so why?
When you choose to send files via AirDrop, the Apple system opens Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, as it searches for any other device on the same network that can be sent to it, and also does the same thing that uses Bluetooth to connect. So he opens the two together because he searches with them.
Can I send files from iPhone to my Mac with AirDrop?
Unfortunately so far, Apple has not provided this command, and it is only limited to transferring between iOS devices, and perhaps in future releases, the ability to transmit with OSX devices will be opened.
Can I use AirDrop's bluetooth to cast to any non-Apple device?
Casting is exclusive to the Apple devices mentioned above and works with iOS 7 only.
