One of the things that make my main use be on the iPad and not the iPhone is the battery power. At a time when I suffer from the rapid depletion of my phone's battery and I cannot go out of my house with the iPhone if it is not 100% or I carry the power bank with me, there is no problem that it is IPad 40% in the morning and continues with me until I come back. But a few days ago something strange happened to me. I turned off the iPad and its battery was about 25%. I went to sleep and woke up and found that the device had turned off, meaning the battery reached zero. The reason it kills my battery is the Facebook app.

After plugging my device in and turning it on again I found that the last app I used before bed was Facebook. Going to the battery section in the settings, I found that half of the iPad battery consumption during the past days was from the Facebook app. And by examining the 7-day period, I found it to be on top of applications by a large difference, as shown in the following picture:

The most strange and illogical thing is that it consumes 9.2 hours on screen - direct use - and 44.5 hours in background! How does this happen ?! I am closing the renewal service in the background for the Facebook app, so how does this happen ?!
Searching on the Internet, I found dozens of complaints, as well as a confirmation posted on one of the famous sites by Facebook officials that there are complaints and they have already connected to something, large battery consumption due to their application. They made it clear that if they found this to be correct, they would issue an update to remedy it.

Until the update is released - if Facebook admits that the complaints are correct - we recommend that you go to Settings then Battery and see the percentage of battery consumption for Facebook during the past 24 hours as well as the 7 days. If you find the number is high, take the following steps:
1
Turn off the automatic video playback feature in the application, which is a major reason for consuming the Internet and device memory, as well as the processor and battery. Go to the Facebook app, then More, from the bottom, then the Account Settings option, to go to the app's settings, then Videos and Photos, and from the Autoplay option, choose Never, as in the following picture:

2
The previous step will reduce battery consumption during actual use, but for the background, first close the renewal service in the background by going to device settings, then General, then “Renew applications in the background” and close it to the Facebook application (and any other application that you do not see as important to the service).

3
Now we've reduced the consumption during use as well as while the app is not working in the first place. But an important thing remained, which is immediately after exiting the application. After you press the screen button, this does not close the application completely, but rather remains in the multitasking for a while. Therefore, we recommend that after you exit the application, you close it completely and delete it from multitasking.
The previous steps will help reduce violent battery consumption, but the best solution is for the company to update its application to solve the problems. Because it will continue to be consumed and the only solution is to delete the app in the first place. The application is always the cause of a battery problem, as a former Apple expert told a year and a half ago -this link-.
