Most of us know the automatic app download feature in iOS devices which, when activated, automatically downloads the apps that you have downloaded from the app store on the rest of your devices. But many of us do not know that this feature is also present in iTunes and has a great benefit, especially as of the previous iOS 9. How do you benefit from it?

How to benefit from automatic downloading in iTunes?

As of the ninth system, Apple canceled the possibility of transferring applications from the iPhone, iPad and iPod, due to its application of a new system that makes applications slimmer and therefore any application that you install from the software store is intended for your device only. This is like a hindrance and maybe a big problem for someone who has weak internet and wants to do a reformatting job. In the following lines, we will explain what the problem is and how automatic downloading contributes to gradually reducing it.

When you have any malfunctions in your device, the ideal solution is to do a "restore". This leads to deleting everything on the device and makes it like new even if you have a backup. The applications must be re-downloaded from the Internet. In the past, we used to connect to iTunes before restoring and transfer applications. But now, what is the situation ?! Now you have to re-download all applications from the Internet again. Yes, iTunes provides a "restore", but it returns files inside applications and starts downloading them. Imagine that you have 1000 apps, for example, and the size is 30-40 GB. With the speed of the Internet in our Arab world, we are facing a tragedy, and downloading applications takes many days.

If you have hundreds of apps, you don't download them overnight. It took months or even years. Today's app, yesterday's app, 3 last week's apps, and so on. So, there is no problem in downloading them on your computer at the same rate, right ?!

Activate automatic download:

1

Open ITunes Then choose Preferences, which you can find in the Edit tab on Windows, and the iTunes tab if you are using a Mac.

2

Now go to the store or store and choose auto download and activate it for apps or for everyone if you like. Also, an option was activated. Are there available downloads, which comes directly after the automatic download, then click OK.

Now you will try and open the store from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, for example, and download an application that you have not previously downloaded, meaning that the GET phrase appears, not the download button, the arrow. Let's try the preiscope app from Twitter and the CNN app.

Once the download starts on your device, look to iTunes, and you will see that it has started downloading the same application on your computer.

Important Notes:

1

We recommend that you make iTunes open automatically with the personal computer, thus ensuring that any time you open the computer it will open with iTunes and thus new applications are loaded. Also, make sure that you are logged in with the same store account for your device.

2

Automatic download will greatly benefit you, especially with applications that Apple removes from the store, such as screen capture applications, for example. You have the ipa application file and can download it in the future.

3

The previous method is useful for downloading all new applications, but your old “previously downloaded” applications have to be manually downloaded to your computer. Of course, iTunes provides the ability to download all your previous purchases with one click, but this will make you download everything, even the applications that you once downloaded and deleted because you did not like them.
