One of our followers contacted us via Sync to ask us about the iCloud Photo Library feature, as well as the iCloud Photo Sharing feature, as well as the Photo Stream feature. What are these advantages and how can they be used?

To differentiate between services:
Cloud Photo Library: It enables you to save the images in Apple's servers and upload them to all your devices, and any modification to them is modified in all devices, and this preservation is permanent.
Photo streamingAn old feature: it synchronizes photos like the previous one, but for 30 days.
Share photos: This feature enables you to create a picture folder and share it with anyone, not with yourself, as in the previous features.

Photo streaming
The feature is the oldest and appeared with iOS 5, and we talked about it in several previous articles - see this linkIn short, it enables you to synchronize photos between your devices linked to the cloud account, which are:
- IOS devices 5.1 and later.
- Mac computers, system 10.7.5 and later, provided iPhone 9.2.2 or Aperture 3.2.3 and later.
- Apple TV second generation and later with 5.0 system.
- Windows 7 devices as long as an application is downloaded iCloud for Windows.
On your previous devices, log in to your cloud account. Now when you take a picture with an iPhone or iPad, it will appear on all your previous devices, provided you activate the feature from your phone settings by going to Settings, then Pictures, and then activating "Upload to My Photo Stream":

Pictures are only retained for 30 days.
Cloud Photo Library
The latest Apple features regarding cloud photos, which is an update and development of the photo streaming feature, appeared with iOS 8. This feature also transfers your photos between your different devices, but this time the requirements are higher, such as:
- IOS 8.3 and later devices.
- Mac computers 10.10.3 and later.
- 9.2th generation Apple TV with tvOS XNUMX and later.
- Windows devices download an application iCloud Windows.
The main differences between this feature and streaming photos is that preservation is permanent, not temporary, for 30 days. And that the photos and their adjustments are synchronized. That is, take a photo, and it is synced. Then you make adjustments to it and it is also always synced. Finally, the most important and prominent feature is that you can adjust the quality of the space.

From the settings of your device, go to the images and activate the feature, and you will find options that appear, which are to adjust the quality by uploading the original image to the cloud, then downloading a suitable copy for your device, thus saving space. The second option is to keep the full quality on the device. Choose what works for you.
Remember, this feature uploads photos to your cloud account, meaning it consumes space from your package, whether the free 5 GB or any other package you subscribe to, because the 5 GB capacity will not be enough to download photos and videos often.

Note that the cloud library feature supports videos as well as better image extensions than traditional image streaming

Share cloud photos
The above features synchronize the photos with your devices. But what if you want to share it with your friends? Simply activate the feature (from Settings and then Pictures) and then open the Photos application on your device, then create a new folder and put in any number of pictures you want, then share it with your friends and you can add up to 100 friends.
An email will be sent to your friend to participate in the folder you created. He must have an iOS or Mac device with the previous conditions and with the approval of your friend, here this folder will appear for him in the photos application on his device and he can comment on it and press the like button just like on Facebook, as he will receive a notification if you add new pictures to the folder. Great if you are on a trip and want to frequently follow friends with photos.
