We talked a couple of months ago why we prefer Google Maps to Apple Maps, then in another article last month on Telegram and why we see it better than WhatsApp. And now it is the turn of the third article, which is the browser. Safari or Google Chrome? Very challenging and difficult choice.

Safari and Chrome are the hard choice

Important clarification:

In the previous article “Telegram and Whatsapp”, we faced violent attacks from some followers and accusations that “we got money” from Telegram for writing this article. Something that did not happen at all. Neither Google paid us to write that their maps were better, nor Telegram nor Apple paid us for their articles. These articles came from my personal experience as "Bin Sami" and that I am the best application over the other, and I decided to share with you what I liked. Unfortunately, and also strangely enough, those who mentioned that it is a "paid article" could not deny one point of superiority that was mentioned, and they were not able to mention one superiority for WhatsApp, for example, not mentioned "spread and communication". Indeed, there are those who said why you claim that Telegram is better as if it did not read a line because all The article is a response to his question, but they decided to resort to the easiest method, which is "distortion to confuse" as if he sees that when we publish a "paid advertising" article, this is an insult, an accusation, and a bad thing. This series is not driven but rather personal experiences of mine.

Here Google Chrome outperforms

Unlike previous articles, here we have to clearly state the points of superiority of the other because it is really useful. The most important feature of Google Chrome is its synchronization with the computer version:

The percentage of using Chrome in computers is 63% or more. Safari is only 5.3%. With the move to phones, Safari's share jumps to 18% and Chrome decreases to 46%, and this statistic also includes Android phones, in which Apple does not compete, and the number increases on iOS devices, meaning if there is a statistic for use on Apple devices, it will often be close shares, and maybe even Safari outperforms. This means that there are millions of people who rely on Chrome on computers, and on the iPhone and iPad, on Safari (myself included). As a result of this, the history of the sites that we visit, passwords, credit cards, etc. are in Google while using the personal computer. So this is a point of excellence for Chrome that you can access your data in the computer browser because you also use Chrome there.

But despite this important feature, I preferred safari for these reasons in the end

That's why I chose Safari

Safari surpasses Chrome for me, although it cannot become a complete alternative as Google Maps and Telegram did before it; But I preferred safari for these reasons:

1

Reading mode: Sites often get their income from advertisements and advertisements, but it becomes very annoying in some sites, which makes you search for content and distracts, in Safari, with one touch on the three lines next to the title, all formatting and advertisements and everything are removed and the page content remains only to read it. A very important feature for me as a person who loves to read on the iPad, especially that I can control the font size, background, colors, etc.

2

Later reading: Sometimes I find an article I like, but due to lack of time, I cannot read it now. So, in seconds, I click on the share button and add it to the next reading for Safari to download it to facilitate access to it at any time. This feature has dedicated applications due to its great importance.

3

Apple key chain: The same feature that is found in Chrome is also in Safari, which is that you can use an Apple Keychain or Apple Keychain on Safari, and this is very useful in auto-completing a lot of my data. With time, my use of the computer decreases and the iPad increases, and thus the passwords registered with Apple sometimes do not have a copy of them at Google. The same goes for my credit cards. I can easily view them from iOS in Keychain.

4

Secret searchIn Chrome: Google allows you to choose the search engine between Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask and AOL, but when you have these options, you will of course use Google. But Safari offers you another search option, DuckDuckGo, which is a search engine that is not very popular with us but has a Do Not Track feature. Therefore, Google does not add it in its browser and Apple is unique to it in Safari.

5

Favorites in front of you: Another feature of Safari that I love on the iPad is that my favorite sites appear, some of them in front of me above the tabs and below the site's address bar. An easy and important feature that makes you reach your favorite sites in a touch.

6

Mandatory from Apple: This feature is not a free and neutral feature. Apple leaves exclusive advantages for it and thus its application is better. Among these advantages are some exclusives in the sharing list, for example when sharing a list of sharing the same site in Chrome and Safari, I found it appears in Safari in the upper half of "Applications" 25 options compared to 21 in Chrome. As for the lower half of "Tools", it was a huge difference, as Safari comes with 18 options, while Chrome comes with only 7 options. Thus, the list as a whole includes 15 additional Safari features over Chrome.

Google Learn

Finally, Google knows that its browser on iOS is not efficient enough, but last month it explained that the reason is its reliance on Apple's WebKit, but last month it opened the source for the application and said that this will make it better and faster in the application and that it has completed the transition to its Chromium system. So we expect to see leaps in browsing speed, features, and site support soon.

For me, Safari beats iOS, while Chrome beats PC, whether Mac or Windows
