Undoubtedly, the jailbreak offers its users tremendous advantages and often you find features provided by the jailbreak that you wish to be in the original system, and always when Apple adds certain features that you did not add previously, it is said that it has been "stolen" from the jailbreak applications, is this true with iOS 11? Let's review some of the advantages and then see.

Did Apple steal all of these features from Cydia?

Customize Control Center

A feature that Apple should have put in the system since the release of the Control Center, not that we wait for it for three years, and of course Cydia developers were on demand and they made tools that allow customizing the control center more, such as the CChide application from Cydia.

What Apple did: It has completely changed the way the Control Center works, as it displays mini options and can be expanded through XNUMXD touch or long touch. It has allowed the Control Center to occupy the entire screen where you can add other options and wipe that you do not want.

Screen recording

Cydia programs allowed screen recording a long time ago, and users wanted Apple to support the feature and found no reason not to allow it.

What Apple didFirst, it allowed screen recording via QuickTime on Mac, then with iOS 11 it allowed recording directly to iPhone.

Install notes

Maybe you ever wanted to easily reach certain notes and keep them at the top without ever descending into the depths of the Notes app? This is what a tool called dubbed Thumbtack was already available on the Cydia Store.

What Apple did: Decided to introduce a similar feature where you can drag to pin important notes on top.

Recognize QR codes

QR codes are ubiquitous and it is cumbersome to install a special app for them to use when needed. The presence of support for recognizing QR codes in the camera application is an intuitive thing, and it has been available in Android devices for a long time, and also in the Cydia store there is an application called (NativeQR) to make the basic camera application able to recognize QR codes without the need for external programs.

What Apple did: Added support for recognizing QR codes in the new update iOS 11, in a smooth and natural way in the device's camera application, so that a notification appears if it recognizes the QR code, and by pressing it, it takes you to the page or text indicated in the QR code.

Move more than one application at a time

Previously, Apple did not allow more than one icon to be pulled at the same time on the main screen to coordinate applications, but developers on the Cydia store created tools that enable you to do so for a while, such as (MultiIconMover) or (MultiActions), and certainly these applications provided great trouble when organizing your device.

What Apple did: It added the feature of moving more than one application at the same time by dragging an application and pressing with the other hand on any other application to join it, thus you can drag more than one application and also allowed moving applications without long pressing and waiting for icons to wobble as usual.

View GIF animations in the Photos application

The iOS app does not display animated images and displays them as static images, and for years the jailbreak community has realized this problem, and there are several applications such as (dubbed GIFViewer) that allow displaying GIF animations inside the Photos application without the need for a special application.

What Apple didIn the iOS 11 update, you can now see animations in the Photos application, and more support has been added for them throughout the system.

One-handed keyboard

Since Apple launched its large devices with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, some users have wanted a smaller keyboard to fit typing with one hand, and the jailbreak community responded first as usual and an application named (dubbed OneHandWizard) appeared that shrinks the size of the keyboard to fit typing with one hand.

What Apple did: Apple added a change to the keyboard in iOS 11 that allows it to be scaled down to suit one-handed typing.

Voice change interface

The interface to reduce or increase the volume on iOS devices appeared in the middle of the screen and interrupted what the user was doing, and many complained about that and we always wanted an unobtrusive way to indicate the volume level, and the jailbreak came with several tools, the most famous of which is (StatusHUD) that shows the volume level in place of the status bar.

What Apple didIn iOS 11, the audio status interface appears in the upper corner of the screen in a small size when watching a video filling the screen.

Is Apple borrowing these advantages?

Perhaps it can be said that the developers of these tools on Cydia have preceded Apple in showing those choices to the user, but a large part of the features such as keyboard or screen recording was originally present in the codes for the iOS system, but it did not allow the feature to run in the system and delayed announcing it for one reason or another and all What the jailbreak did was turn it on. Also the other part of the "borrowed features" is a natural development of the system, such as customizing the control center or recognizing QR codes. These advantages are natural to add and they are intuitive so that they cannot be "stolen", but Apple is taken to delay it, perhaps because it does not want to compete with updates with features, which may cause system slowdowns, such as what happened with Samsung in TouchWiz for years.
