I have a relative who loves Android devices, and I learned that he finally decided to move to the Apple world and bought an iPhone 8. I learned later that he started cursing the day he bought an iPhone. Since I am known in the family to be from the Apple team, he contacted me and told me that he can't download apps from the App Store and he is shown a message asking him to review his account, then a white screen and the page never loads. Anyway, I got him to send me the device.

At first glance it is IPhone 8 is original It is not a tradition and I actually entered the app store, but a white screen appears after pressing the review account, and if this page is loaded after a long time, the information on it does not appear in full, I doubted the Wi-Fi settings and went to the device’s settings to see something liked, there is no Wi-Fi, but rather The word WLAN, I opened my device to make sure it found my device that had Wi-Fi written in it, so I said what is this! Immediately, I searched the phone model number to find out that it was the iPhone version intended for China, but what is the secret of the slow internet? And why wrote WLAN and not Wi-Fi? Is this the only difference?
The difference between Wi-Fi and WLAN

China has strict laws when it comes to data and internet connection, and most of you already know this, especially for those who have traveled to China and find that most of the services and applications that you are used to do not work in China. Also, China has special protocols if companies want to officially sell their products, including the Internet Protocol, and companies must support the so-called WAPI (or WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure), and this requires an amendment to the Wi-Fi protocol, which should not be modified except with the approval of the global authority. For this protocol, and in 2010, Apple, as the first major company to support WAPI, had to change the name of the wireless Internet connection from the registered mark Wi-Fi to the generic name WLAN.
So, the name change does not mean that the Apple phones, the Chinese version, do not connect to the Wi-Fi, but rather they connect well and do not require special settings, but what is changed is only the name because the Chinese versions have a special protocol for China.
So what's the problem?
The problem is that the iPhone phones of the Chinese version are slower when connecting to the wireless Internet, and this may be due to the amendments made by Apple to the Wi-Fi protocol. We did not find this slowness authorized on any site, but we found a large number of people complaining about the slow wireless internet in the iPhone Chinese version.
The differences between the Chinese version and the other versions
Not only this is the only difference, but the most annoying difference for me, so we never recommend that you get an iPhone, the Chinese version, as you are indispensable for the problems of the wireless internet.
The other differences are minor, though the Chinese version does not allow voice calling via FaceTime, but rather video calling.

And if you try to call audio via FaceTime to the iPhone, the Chinese version, even if you are in a country that supports FaceTime, will not receive the call, and the same thing is' If you try to call from the device by voice, while FaceTime video works without a problem.
Another thing you may notice in the iPhone - the Chinese version is its support for Chinese accounts in the accounts settings page.

Also, there are some other differences, for example the emoji of the Taiwan flag does not exist, and it does not write Taiwan but rather Taiwan Province (the official name of Taiwan is the Republic of China).
And another thing I noticed, when I open any application for the first time, a message appears asking me if I want to make this application communicate via wireless data.

This message did not appear to me on my phone, and I do not know if it is limited to the iPhone, the Chinese version or not.
In the end, this article explains some information to experience with an original iPhone 8, but the Chinese version, we know that all the iPhone is made in China, but Apple allocates versions for each country and some of these countries have special laws, for example in the UAE, FaceTime is not allowed, and also Some countries have special cellular communications frequencies. But in the end, all of them are original phones, all of them are guaranteed by Apple, and the differences between them are slight and often will not disturb you with your enjoyment of the iPhone.
