At the end of 2011 I sent an article for my acceptance test on iPhone Islam. It is “A.Where to go to between corporate warsAt the time, I spoke that the legal conflict that began to appear between companies may lead to losses in creativity, and she cited the words of Google President and former Apple board member Eric Schmeth. But when I thought about this conflict in 2018, I found that there was a new loser. It is we who are the real losers in the conflict between companies.

Find out the real losers in the wars between companies

Important clarification

This article is not based on a business point of view but rather personal as a user. I do not care that the companies act is legal or commercially correct, but I see the benefit and loss as a user. I do not own shares in any company in the world and I will neither win nor lose from their wars.

Footprint is only mine

In January 2015, "Dennis Woodside," the former head of the phones department at Motorola, spoke about some devices in the history of the company and was asked about wrong actions, such as the launch of the Google Nexus 6 phone a year after the release of the iPhone 5s, but without the basic feature "fingerprint." And here Dennis announced a surprise. His company was already working on providing a fingerprint in this phone, but Apple came in July 2012 and acquired AuthenTec, which was the best company in the world in this field. The company was working with Motorola at the time on phones, including Google Nexus 6, and working with AT&T and even Samsung. But Apple decided to acquire it and terminate the company's contracts with all parties. They tried to search for alternatives, but they failed to find a good fingerprint, and therefore they were not satisfied with presenting a phone with a lower quality fingerprint or the same as that provided by Samsung in the S5 (it works by scanning).

In short, Apple acquired the best company in a particular field and deprived competitors of it and did not even want to sell it at high prices, as Samsung did in OLED screens for the iPhone X. Apple won billions from its 5s phone, but we are the real loser by having many phones at the time without a fingerprint because the best is to prevent.

Less performance for war

If the previous example is not clear, here is a new example current in your device that you are holding in your hand, whether it is Apple 8 or 7 that has a problem with Qualcomm, and therefore decided to gradually rely on Intel - Intel to get from it the LTE / 4G network chip in its devices. But Apple found a problem, which is that Qualcomm is the best company in the world in this area, with a noticeable difference from Intel. And Apple engineers found that Intel's better chip is inferior in quality to its Qualcomm counterpart, as well as Intel cannot supply sufficient quantity, while Qualcomm can supply a chip faster and in a larger quantity. Reason and logic say you buy Apple from Qualcomm, right !!!

No! Apple decided to buy an Intel chip and complete purchases from Qualcomm (or become the main deficit of Intel), but a new problem arose; The iPhone running on the Qualcomm chip connects to the LTE network faster than the iPhone with the Intel chip. Here, Apple decided to block and reduce the performance of the Qualcomm chip to be close to the performance of the Intel chip. Yes, this is real, see the following picture to know the surprise:

The top line that moves between the numbers 4.5 and 5.0 is for the Samsung S7 and the second line is for the iPhone 7 with a Qualcomm chip (moving between 2.3 and 2.7), then the iPhone with an Intel chip (it moves between the numbers 1.5 and 2.1). This means that the iPhone Qualcomm is faster than the Intel iPhone, but the difference is not huge, Islam iPhone. Well, did you notice where the Samsung S7 is performing! This is the one at the top by a huge margin. This phone works with the Qualcomm X12 chip, while the iPhone "second line" works with the Qualcomm X12 chip ... Yes, this is true, the same chip, but Apple reduced the performance all this for Intel.

In short a chip is half the speed of the Qualcomm chip or less than half. But Apple decided to buy it for some devices and reduce the speed of the rest of the chips so that it can be at a speed close to this slow speed .. All this for the sake of the eyes of war. In the end, we are the ones who lose the speed difference. We are the real losers.

There is currently news that Apple will completely abandon Qualcomm and rely only on Intel for its upcoming devices

Conclusion

We do not want the article to lengthen you with more examples, but we wanted to clarify an important point, which is that the war between companies is in fact the one who loses it. Apple did not adopt fast charging, for example, because it does not want to earn Qualcomm money from it, and recently preferred to use PD because it is free. Billions will be transferred in cases between companies, and companies will avoid introducing some technologies and may even offer less technology because they are in conflict.

What do you think now? Do you see that companies are the ones who lose in judicial wars, or are we the ones who are considered the real losers in these wars?
