We all suffer from the full storage space in the iPhone over time, even if the space is large. This is due to the apparent improvement in images and video and thus their increase in size, not to mention the application sizes that increase with each new update. And when the storage becomes full, we all resort to deleting or moving to the cloud, computer or Mac. Sometimes circumstances force us to need any space without sacrificing what is on the phone. So what is the solution? There are temporary solutions to free up some storage space in times of need, without deleting any apps or images, so stay tuned.

How to free up space on your device without deleting any application or file

Delete old messages

If we look at the Messages app, the current texts and images don't take up much space on the phone. But with these messages accumulating for a long time and possibly more than a year, they will definitely take up some of your storage space. Sure, you left it to review, but you didn't and won't. If you delete it and let the iPhone do the scanning automatically for you, it will do so after a certain period of time that you specify in advance. It will definitely free up your space.

◉ Go to Settings - Messages - Scroll down until you see “Message History” - Keep Messages - other than “Forever” to “30 Days”. A window will appear asking you to delete the old messages, so agree to it.

Do not duplicate the pictures

If you like capturing high-quality HDR photos. Know that the phone saves the image in two copies. HDR version and normal version, and we all know that. But you can turn this off by going to Settings - Camera - Scroll down and turn off the "Keep normal photos" mode.

The same happens by default for the Instagram app. The image will be saved twice. You can turn this off in the app's settings.

Clear browser cache

The browser in the iPhone saves details and data in order to make browsing more flexible and get information easily, especially if you visit certain sites repeatedly. Of course, preserving these details takes some space from the memory, and these details are known as cookies, history, cache, etc. By clearing the cache, a decent amount of space will be freed up.

◉ Go to Settings - Safari - tap on Clear history and browsing data.

Remove songs from music and podcasts

You can free up some space by wiping old audio files. Open the Podcast app and swipe left and delete. Apps like Spotify and Apple Music give you the option to listen to your favorite tracks without storing them on the phone. Most of them require a subscription payment. Or use Soundcloud with ads.

Clear Post Reading List

If you use Safari Reading List regularly to save articles and read them when you have no internet access. This takes up storage space as well, and deleting this list saves space.

◉ Go to Settings - General - iPhone Storage - then Safari - Offline Reading List - then swipe left or right according to the device's language. This will remove your saved articles and give you some space.

Another trick

Temporary files "cache" is the enemy of primary storage. Once you browse to the website, Facebook, or Twitter, the application automatically downloads what you browse to be stored in your device to speed up browsing later. On Android, there are a huge number of applications to delete these files, but iOS Apple prevents this and adds an automatic feature, which is that if the system finds little space, it automatically deletes files. Here's how to force the system to delete these files.

The trick is to rent a large-sized movie from the iTunes Store app on the iPhone (or download a huge game, but the movie space is always larger). Go to the application - search for a large movie / application - some movies are up to 8 GB - when you click on RENT or RENT, a message will appear stating that there is not enough storage space. And the system will automatically delete the temporary files from your device.
