Rumors have sprung up over the past two days that AirPower Wireless Charging is looming on the horizon and has already entered product lines, if reports are to be true. Has Apple defied the technical difficulties and complexities with this platform?

Finally Airpower is in the production line

ChargerLAB from Hong Kong indicated that it had obtained from a reliable source in the supply chain of Apple claiming that the Chinese company Luxshare Precision has already started producing AirPower and in a conversation on the Chinese WeChat messaging app, the source added that he had heard that the AirPower platform would be released soon.

Worth noting, Luxshare is a member of the Wireless Power Consortium with the Qi standard behind it. It also bundles AirPods, USB-C cables, and Lightning cables, according to ChargerLAB. According to reports, it has been nearly two years since Luxshare will be the main supplier of the AirPower platform. And it may not be the only supplier, as a report last year stated that Pegatron would be involved in the production process.

Apple faced tough challenges in producing AirPower

A few weeks ago, developer Steve Troughton-Smith said he had heard that Apple had overcome technical challenges at AirPower, and could go ahead until it launched safely. These challenges included:

◉ Communication problems between AirPower and the devices placed on it, especially the Apple Watch and AirPod headphones, and sending data to the iPhone, which monitors the charging level of all devices placed on it. According to Sonny Dickson, which specializes in leaks, comprehensive coverage, and technology reviews.

◉ Also, one of the problems that Apple faced that caused a delay in production for all this time is the problem of interfering power from different sizes of devices that had a large role in the temperature of the charging platform.

◉ The complexity of the electronic circuits in the device, which represented a great challenge, and could only be overcome by custom designs that led to more thickness and larger size. But Apple does not want to make any concessions in design in general, as it must ultimately come up with a design in line with Apple's approach.

And what about the AirPods wireless charging case

Going back to last October, Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst, claimed that it might launch AirPower in the early first quarter of 2019, indicating that the supplement may be released soon.

It is possible that the late launch of AirPower is the reason why Apple has not yet released the wireless charging case for the AirPods, and, like AirPower, Kuo predicts that the wireless charging case for the headphones may be launched in early 2019 before an entirely new pair appears in 2020. .

What is the AiPower platform

AirPower is an oval-shaped platform that can simultaneously charge multiple Apple devices that support wireless charging, including iPhone 8 and later, Apple Watch Series 3 and later, and AirPods when they are placed in its wireless charging case that is expected to be launched. With AirPower.

Apple first announced AirPower at the Steve Jobs Theater in September 2017 at the same iPhone X presentation conference, and indicated that it will be released sometime in 2018 in a press release. Unfortunately, Apple has not achieved this, and has not commented on this for several months.

After September 2018, Apple removed everything it mentioned about AirPower from its official website. However, it is still referenced in the iPhone XS, XS Max, and iPhone XR user guides. And it was also referred to in a few more recent Apple patents. Apple's silence regarding AirPower has resulted in some believing the product has been canceled, but here it is coming out again.

Last month, based on documents obtained from members of the Made for iPhone program, ChargerLAB informed that Apple-certified third-party Lightning to USB-C cables will also be available in early 2019. ChargerLAB has reported that Apple iPhones - iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR will get an 18-watt USB-C power adapter.

In a recent tweet, ChargerLAB cited another source claiming that an Apple Pegatron supplier is set to start production for the AirPower charging pad on January 21.
