We mentioned in a previous article -Link- How did the Apple Watch help the police to get to the real killer in a murder! In the past few days, another important feature of the Apple Watch 4 has managed to call emergency services to help rescue an 80-year-old German woman. So what happened?

The Apple Watch series 4 features a fall detector, which can detect when the wearer has made a hard fall. When the watch senses that harsh fall, it taps or pricks the wearer's wrist in a signal to alert him or to check that he is fine, or the watch makes a sound in an attempt to attract the attention of a bystander.

And if the watch senses that its owner is on the move, it will automatically give him the option to call the emergency room using the digital crown. And if there is no movement for about a minute, a phone call will be made automatically to the emergency services. And the matter does not stop there, in addition to the above, the watch will send messages to the contacts previously appointed by the user to inform them of his fall and the location of this fall.
In the past few days, an 80-year-old woman fell into her apartment in Heidhausen, Munich, Germany and lost consciousness as a result of that fall, prompting the watch to call the emergency room immediately. Where they receive a call that someone has fallen hard and think they need help, then the watch sends the coordinates of the victim's location.

When the ambulance arrived, the crew was unable to open the door. Therefore, the firefighters were called to enter the house to find an old woman lying on the ground completely unconscious. Meanwhile, the woman's son received a warning sent from his mother's watch that she had fallen and needed help. Indeed, the son arrived in time to see his mother, and she was given treatment by the ambulance crew, and the woman did not have to enter the hospital.
This was not the first case that the Apple Watch saved the lives of these elderly women. Last October, the watch played a major role in saving a 65-year-old man who fell while cooking in front of the oven, and tried in turn to turn off the oven but was unable to. And soon, the help came and saved him from imminent danger.

It was also attributed to the Apple Watch as well, that it helped save another 67-year-old man who fell into the bathroom and found him bleeding and completely unconscious.
Besides the drop feature, the Apple Watch 4 has other important health-related features, such as heart rhythm monitoring and early detection of atrial fibrillation, which is the main cause of strokes, strokes and heart disease. It is rumored that the Apple Watch series 5 will include other features such as this sleep tracking other than the development of features already in place.

It is worth noting that the fall detection feature is enabled by default for people aged 65 and over, if you enter your age data in the Health app on the Apple Watch. This is to prevent false alarms from people who may be participating in various sports that may trigger this feature. Fall detection is only available on the Apple Watch 4 due to the presence of an accelerometer and gyroscope.
