The Wi-Fi networks saved on your device may have a strong and full signal, and when paired with them automatically, you do not get any Internet connection, if you encounter a problem like this, you are not alone, and there is always a solution, and this solution will increase Privacy And security on your iPhone.

When you are away from home, you can connect to Wi-Fi at a coffee shop, restaurant, hotel, or anything like that. If you don't have cellular service or need to provide some cellular data, then Wi-Fi connectivity is the perfect solution. However, you might forget that the iPhone keeps your login information so it can connect automatically in the future. But it appears that this automatic connection is not always good.

Why Auto Wi-Fi Not Always Good

Many free automatic hotspots outside the home require phone authentication to function properly, but a notification of that authentication may not appear unless you open a browser. Safari First.

So your phone may automatically connect to the Wi-Fi, but you have not yet authenticated it, which leads to no Internet connection and you do not know. Even if the feature “Wi-Fi assistant or Wi-Fi Assist” is on, when activated, this feature is automatically switched to cellular data when the Wi-Fi network connection is weak. It may not switch to cellular data usage because the phone is already connected to a hotspot which is Wi-Fi.

In terms of security, The iPhone constantly issues what are known as "scan frames" or probe frames to search for nearby Wi-Fi signals to connect to them, even when Wi-Fi is disabled, this process continues, and this process poses a risk to privacy, as these search frames can be used from Hackers accept and thus see their information, and they can create a fake hotspot using the SSID name that is being searched for and that is being broadcast from your device. And since the iPhone only searches for a matching SSID, it can connect to the hacker’s fake AP access point, giving them your true MAC address and the possibility of hacking and causing more damage.

How to turn off automatic connection to hotspots

To prevent all of the above scenarios from happening, open Settings, then click "Wi-Fi." The iPhone will show you the hotspot you are connected to, as well as the networks of any other nearby devices. Locate the respective Wi-Fi network that you no longer want to connect to automatically, then tap it or click (i) next to its name. And if you wish to connect to this network manually in the future, just disable the setting “Auto join".

Doing so will prevent the iPhone from automatically trying to connect to the network from now on. If you no longer want anything about the saved network, click "Unsave this network", Then Save save In the pop-up window to confirm.

Interestingly, that iOS 14 It includes a new option to assign private Wi-Fi addresses to each WLAN you connect to, thus limiting iPhone tracking while using different Wi-Fi networks.

So make sure to always enable this option, but it will not prevent you from the internet disconnection issue that we mentioned earlier sometimes. Even Apple admits that, "The network may allow you to join with a private address, but it may not allow access to the Internet."
