IOS 14 is well received by many users, but as usual not everyone is completely satisfied. There were many complaints about the performance of the battery, and the truth is that we spoke in many articles previously after almost every major update about solutions to solve the problem of battery drain after the update. You can follow this tag - Link - And Apple announced on its website the reason for the drain on the battery on the iPhone and the watch after the recent update and made a proposal to solve that problem.

Speaking to a person who filed a complaint with the official Apple Support account on Twitter, Apple said in response to the complaint, “There is activity running in the background which is usually required when moving to a new iOS system for about 48 hours, including downloading updates for applications. .

What this means is that there are processes going on behind the scenes that you cannot see or even control, which is part of the reason your phone's battery drains so fast. And believe it or not, Apple is not wrong about this, as we have mentioned similar things to this in previous articles.

For example, one of the biggest upgrades to iOS 14 is Spotlight Search in its new form, as this allows you to search for files and applications on the iPhone, and every part of your phone must be re-indexed and this process takes place in the background.

As a result, you will notice battery draining. This will normally last for about 48 hours after the update, after which the battery life should improve again. And the re-indexing theory makes sense. Nor is it the only reason your battery runs out.

Apple says:

One of the biggest reasons for battery drain after every update is that you use your phone a lot, as you explore and try new features

Despite what Apple says, some iOS 14 users still struggle with battery even after that 48 hours and possibly more than a week. To address the problem, Apple says affected users should erase and restore their phones from scratch. It's a little long process, but it seems to fix the problem.

In addition to what Apple mentioned about battery drain, there were other issues related to losing activity data or health data. Here's how you can do it.

Resolves battery issue and other health and activity data issues

First of all, you should take a backup copy of the contents of your phone. Then unpair the Apple Watch from the iPhone, if you have one. This will fix any issues with the health app.

Open the watch application on the iPhone.

◉ Tap My Watch, then tap All Hours.

◉ Press the info button next to the watch that you want to unpair.

◉ Click on Unpair or Unpair Apple Watch.

After that, back up to iCloud if you have enough space or your computer or Mac through iTunes. You may be required to enter your Apple account to complete the backup.

◉ Make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and open Settings.

◉ Tap on your name at the top of Settings, then iCloud.

◉ Make sure that the Health application is activated to take a backup copy of it, you will know the reason shortly.

◉ Click iCloud Backup or iCloud Backup, then enable it if it is not.

◉ Click Back Up Now to create a backup. Wait for the backup to complete.

To confirm your health information is backed up, open the Health app and click on your profile picture in the upper left or right. At the bottom of the screen, you can see when your data was last backed up. If the time displayed is not fresh, wait for the backup to finish and check again.

Now that your watch is unpaired and your phone is backed up, you need to erase everything on the iPhone and reformat it again:

◉ Open Settings - then General.

◉ Scroll to the bottom of the list and tap Reset.

◉ Tap on Erase All Content and Settings. Confirm to reformat your phone.

Everything on the iPhone will be erased and then restarted. This could take some time.

You can restore your phone and data again after restarting it:

◉ Follow the on-screen setup steps until you reach the Applications & Data screen. Click Restore from iCloud Backup.

◉ Once the backup is restored, open the watch app.

Click Start pairing and wait for the pairing to complete with your watch.

◉ Click Restore from Backup and choose the backup to restore your data.

Thats all about it. According to Apple, this should resolve any remaining battery issues. If you're still having trouble then this should be remedied in future updates.
