Apple this week launched the first beta version of the upcoming iOS 14.5 update, a week after it released an update iOS 14.4 With bug fixes and new updates. It came with several new advantages that we will talk about later in detail when Apple releases the final version. One of the most important upcoming features is the iPhone unlocking feature while you are masked or wearing the muzzle! Unfortunately, this is only in the interest of those who own an Apple Watch and with the update of iOS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4, with this you will be able to unlock the iPhone automatically while you are wearing a face mask.

How to set up an iPhone unlock while wearing a face mask

Once the final versions of iOS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4 are released to the public, you can unlock the iPhone through the Apple Watch, but you have to do these steps first:

Make sure to update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest version

The only way to download the iOS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4 update now is to have a developer account. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for Apple to release the public releases. Then update immediately, unlock your iPhone, go to Settings - General Software Update and install iOS 14.5 update. Once you have downloaded and installed it on your phone, you can move on to update the Apple Watch.

And to update the Apple Watch, you have it Two options: You can either download it from the watch application on the iPhone by going to the software update and then download watchOS 7.4, or directly from the watch itself through the settings - general software update and then installing the new program.

Turn on the new "Unlock with Apple Watch" feature

Once both devices are updated, you can turn on the new feature. On the iPhoneGo to Settings, then Face ID and Passcode, and then under the Unlock with Apple Watch section, turn on the Apple Watch option.

There are also some adjustments that you will have to make, if you don't already have these things turned on, to your settings on the Apple Watch. Otherwise, the feature will not work at all.

To enable the passcode on the Apple Watch, go to Settings - Passcode - Turn on Passcode, and type in the password.

Make sure the Wrist Detection feature is turned on. It should turn on automatically when setting your passcode because it uses the feature to determine when the clock will be locked. But it is always a good idea to check back.

Unlock iPhone using Apple Watch

Now, unlocking your iPhone using Face ID while wearing a face mask should be very simple.

As long as your Apple Watch is on your wrist, the iPhone will recognize it and immediately begin unlocking. You will feel the tone of the watch on your wrist, and a notification will appear on it to inform you that the iPhone has been unlocked. The iPhone lock button will also appear below this notification.

What do you think of this new feature? Do you think that Apple should simplify it more? What are your suggestions? Let us know in the comments.
