Apple is trying to simulate a real camera when taking a picture in Camera application By making a capture sound. Many of us prefer to avoid this sound, especially if you want to take a picture on an occasion and do not want anyone to know, here is a way to mute the sound of the camera capture.

Unfortunately, there is no specific button to turn the camera capture sound on or off in the settings! As we promise you there is always a solution, one of the following can be done:
Ways to mute the camera capture on the iPhone
First method: enable Live Photo

When I added Live Photos or Apple Live Photos to my iPhone, the camera sound that was triggered when I took a photo disappeared by default, even with all the phone sounds on. This change proved useful because the Live Photo picks up a few seconds of audio while recording a photo. And when turned on, the capture sound is not played. You will have to turn on Live Photos and set them for default capture through Settings - Camera - Save Settings - Live Photos, or Live Photo, and they are often turned on by default.
To temporarily turn off the Live Photo in the camera app, tap the icon at the top of the camera screen that looks like three circles.

When the three circles are yellow, the Live Photo is turned on and the capture sound is muted.
When the three circles are white with a slash in the center, the Live Photo is turned off for the duration of this photo session, and snapping sounds are heard as the photos are taken.
The second method: the mute key

If you don't want to turn on Live Photo feature but want to turn off camera capture sound, try this method.
You can mute the camera capture sound by setting the ring or silent switch on the side of the device to silent, thus disabling the sound of the shot. You can turn this switch on and off as desired. But be careful, the silent switch will mute the volume at the system level.
This trick does not work in some countries where the law requires that a sound beep when taking a photo
Note

Some countries require image capture sound on photo-capturing devices. Like Japan and South Korea, and the sound of the shot will always be played. It appears that it depends on the SIM card, as travelers from other countries who exchange a local SIM card find that attempts to mute the sound are ineffective and the sound remains the same.
