Indian tech blog MySmartPrice has obtained XNUMXD models of what it claims will be a model IPhone 13 Standard, which reveals a familiar design with some noticeable changes, including a smaller notch and a different new rear camera design. The site says it received the samples from "industry sources" and did not name them.

These leaks provide some ideas about the direction Apple will take in 2021. It is not surprising that the company will not change the design this year, following the old format that it unveiled in 2020. The iPhone 13 will also remain the same design as the old iPhone 5S. Which is combined with the iPhone X and newer edge-to-edge screens, it will contain the standard iPhone 13 with a 6.1-inch screen.

Will iPhone 13 have two front cameras?

Despite rumors that the next iPhone will come with a smaller notch, this time the surprise in the design is the presence of three slots for the cameras in the front. Technically, like the current iPhones, it has slots for each dot matrix display for FaceID, an infrared camera and the main front camera. Thus, the usual position is two holes to the left of the notch, with the earpiece in the middle, and another hole for the camera to the right of the notch. In this image, the three holes are placed next to each other, which raises the question of why Apple would choose such a design unless it wanted to put two cameras on top this year! The earpiece is placed over these three camera openings. Or put it in the frameworks like what was rumored and as we mentioned in a previous article.

With this design, the notch will be crowded this time. And there is a fourth hole, which may contain other sensors, such as ambient light sensor, proximity, etc.

Back cameras for iPhone 13

The rear cameras were also placed diagonally, not vertically, as in the current design of the iPhone 12, but it does not seem that Apple will change the general specifications. We still had four holes, two for the cameras, two more for the flash and a noise-canceling microphone. It appears that the standard iPhone 13 does not have the LIDAR sensor, and it is reserved for the Pro versions only.

It is not clear why the rear cameras are placed diagonally on the iPhone 13, or whether this design will extend to the iPhone 13 mini, but there are many camera-related changes that are rumored for iPhone 13 models that may require a change. In January, for example, supply chain news site DigiTimes reported that shifting optical image stabilization (OIS) would be extended to the entire iPhone 13 lineup.

other details

The overall dimensions of the iPhone 13 are exactly the same as the iPhone 12, at 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.6 mm. Previous reports indicated that Apple will introduce a more energy-efficient screen on this year's models, leading to an overall increase in the phone's battery life. The new LTPO OLED displays are also expected to offer variable refresh rates, perhaps another feature that will be reserved for Pro models.

MySmartPrice does not have a proven track record of rumors about future Apple products, so this leak must be treated with some suspicion until it is supported by other sources. Apple is currently expected to unveil the iPhone 13 lineup next September as usual, so we're still several months away from the devices becoming official.
