Every now and then, a new secret appears that we do not know in a system iOS Starting with how to delete numbers in the calculator, as well as moving applications in bulk to another place on the main screen, secrets are still being revealed day by day and certainly will not end, as every day a new one appears. What is new, there is an important application, but it is hidden and does not appear in the main screen, not even in the application library? Get to know this application.

A hidden application that is neither found on the home screen nor in the application library

Logically, what is known to everyone is that any application on the iPhone will be found in the application library because it displays all the applications even if you delete them from the main screen. So how can there be an app that is not present on the home screen and app library and you can still open it and use it like any other app?

In iOS 14, if you swipe down on your home screen to open the search, type "Code Scanner" or just the word "Code" or "Scanner." There, you'll see a code scanner, Make QR Code and, surprisingly, these apps are only available in this place. You definitely didn't notice this before! We did not know its existence except through the control center and after adding it manually for quick access.

However, not many people use Code Scanner from Control Center, and this is because the basic code scanning functionality is already built into the Camera app. Although it works effectively, there are some differences, especially since the codes you scan in Code Scanner open in an in-app browser in an instant.

Things get even more confusing when you realize that Apple called the Code Scanner app a different name in previous iOS releases. In iOS 13, it was “QR Code Reader,” and in iOS 12, it was “Scan QR Code.” It's possible that Apple has moved away from having a "QR" in the name because it can also scan App Clip codes, which can run smaller versions of apps.

Also interestingly, if you look at the iOS recovery files on your computer, you will not find “Code Scanner” listed in the iOS app list. Instead, you'll see “BarcodeScanner”, endless surprises.

Regardless of its name, once you close Code Scanner, you will lose access to any scanned pages, as the app has no way of remembering or saving your history. So it's best to use the app when you don't need to refer to the code again later.

Code Scanner is currently the only app on iOS that we know of this format. There are other "apps" throughout iOS that don't have a place on the Home screen or app library by default, such as the Magnifier app. It can be added to your home screen and app library, but only after unlocking the feature first, before iOS 14, there was no Magnifier app at all.
