A loophole in the iPhone turns off Wi-Fi completely

A security researcher has discovered a new problem with the iPhone, through which you can permanently disable Wi-Fi and prevent the device from connecting to the network and accessing the Internet even if you change the network and also restart the iPhone again.

A loophole in the iPhone turns off Wi-Fi completely

new problem

Security expert Carl Schou discovered a new vulnerability in the iPhone running iOS 14 that appeared to him when he tried to log into a personal WiFi hotspot named “%p%s%s%s%s%n” from the iPhone. Its own operating system 14.4.2.

Once connected to the Wi-Fi “%p%s%s%s%s%n”, the iPhone permanently disabled the functions of your device’s connection to Wi-Fi networks, and even if you tried to fix the matter by changing the SSID or restarting the device, it did not It works.

Cause of the problem

And Karl pointed out that the problem that appeared is due to the name of the network in this strange way, as the operating system in the iPhone believes that the “%” symbol that appears at the beginning of the network name may be a software thing and not a plain text, and although the iOS system is very smart but This code is misinterpreted, unlike the Android system, which works without any problem even if the network name is unusual.

Fix the problem

You can fix the problem easily by resetting the Wi-Fi network settings on your device by going to Settings > General > Reset Network Settings; Or in English Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, and once you turn on the iPhone and connect to Wi-Fi, you will find it works smoothly.

It is expected that Apple will issue, as usual, within its upcoming updates to the systems, a solution to this problem so that it does not recur.

Finally, when using your iPhone, avoid connecting to unknown Wi-Fi networks in order to keep your device as secure as possible, as these networks are used by hackers because it is still a quick and easy method of attack and if you need to use Wi-Fi in cafes, for example In order to increase security, it is recommended to use a VPN tool. Of course, it is recommended to rely on the cellular network.

Do you use public Wi-Fi to connect to the Internet and how to protect yourself, tell us in the comments

A word completely in the title gives the impression that the malfunction is permanent and is related to the hardware,,, and at the end of the article the word “repair” easily contradicts the title 🤔,,, Dear author of the article,, iPhone Islam does not need flashy or attractive titles to read the article, a word in the article is enough for us, This is just a reminder, thank you

I say that what you are saying is true. It is called a bug, not a loophole. It is ok, do not blame them because they sometimes copy and paste articles from other sites without reviewing them.

My iPhone X Max 10 does not connect to Wi-Fi for more than 4 days, and if I call manually after I lock the device, the Wi-Fi is exited and it is difficult to connect again
Note that I have updated the network settings

I think it is a feature and not a loophole.. the device protects itself and protects the user..

Maybe it will be a feature or maybe not, because the name of the network is a well-known software and I know a little about it, but I am surprised by the one who sets the name of the Wi-Fi network as such a strange name, I mean I got the names or letters or how 😄
