iOS 15 comes with design improvements and several major updates. Perhaps the biggest feature for some is Focus, which comes to help you organize the constant torrent of notifications and apps in our busy lives, and maybe focus on your work or just relax a bit.

Learn how to turn on and use the feature here.

Settings -> Focus

You can find the focus feature in the settings. There you will find several options where you can turn on the focus modes available from Apple or add your own via the + sign at the top. In this article we prepare the existing focus (work).

allow people

When you click on it, a screen will show you some features, and when you click on next you can add people who are allowed to make calls or send you iMessage while focus is on. You can also by pressing (Calls From) choose other groups from which calls are allowed, such as Favorites or Family.

If an unauthorized person calls you while the focus is on, the phone will give him a “busy” message, as it happens if you hang up, or a “tout toot” sound, as it happens when you are in an area with no good coverage. Depending on the type of your caller's phone.

Allow apps

The next step is choosing which apps are allowed to send notifications while you're working. Here I will choose email, telegram and google tasks. Then press allow.

Additional options

After completing the configuration you will experience this screen. With it, you can further customize the focus mode. We will discuss these additional options below:

Focus status and home screen

focus state Allows you to control the status sharing feature. As shown to the right of the image above, when you turn it on to your acquaintances in i-Message, they can see if you are busy and your notifications are muted or not. This also gives them the option to send a notification anyway if they think what they want is urgent.

If you do not want them to see the situation, you can turn off this feature from the button at the top of the page.

main screen It allows you to choose specific home screens to operate during focus mode, for example, you can put work applications in a specific screen to choose them during work and hide them during personal times.

Lock screen and auto control

with a page Lock screen You can choose to completely darken the lock screen while focusing (as it does with sleep mode).

The second option allows you to show muted notifications on the lock screen (but without sound) or hide them completely while focusing, which I recommend.

The last choice is Automatic control It allows you to choose specific times when the focus is turned on. For example, when you arrive at work, when you open an app, or at a smart time of the day.

Control Center

When viewing Control Center (1) You will find focus. You can click on the circle to turn on the current focus (in the picture above, “personal” focus), but if you mistake it on another place (the word focus), the screen will appear in (2) It allows you to choose one of the modes that you configured in the settings. When you press the three dots (3) next to one you can play either for one hour, or for tomorrow morning, or until you leave the location you are in.
