Apple has released a new update called 4A400 for the second generation AirPods, Pro and Max headphones. The update to the Pro and Max headphones brings a new chat boost feature. Learn about the feature in detail and how to activate it, as well as take advantage of the expanded integration feature with the Find My feature, which was added in this update and Apple had reviewed them in WWDC Worldwide Developers Conference earlier this year.

How to do the conversation-boosting feature of AirPods?

Sound clearer on AirPods Pro

The feature is called Conversation Boost, and Apple says it's specifically designed to help people with mild hearing difficulties stay more connected in conversations. The feature uses AirPods Pro's microphones to increase the volume of the person speaking in front of you, making it easier to listen to a face-to-face conversation more naturally, and there's also an option to reduce ambient noise.

How to turn on chat boost on AirPods Pro

To enable Conversational Boost, the speaker must be updated to either the Pro or Max version to version 4A400. Updates to AirPods Pro over Wi-Fi are automatically installed if paired with an iPhone, but there's no manual way to force the update. In general, the AirPods Pro connected to the iPhone or iPad must be updated to the latest version, and can be updated while in its charging case and connected to a power source.

Integration of the Find My network with the headphones Pro and Max

The new update for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max adds expanded integration with Find My, allowing them to be located through connections with other people's Apple devices. Before now, the ‌Pro and ‌Max‌ headphones were listed in the Find My‌ app, but if they were out of Bluetooth range, only the last known location would be shown. With the update, Find My ‌ network will provide an approximate location for your AirPods to help you reach Bluetooth range to track them by playing audio.
