With iOS 15 and the exclusive Hide Email feature for iCloud+ subscribers, you can create unique, random email addresses that forward to your personal inbox in order to keep your personal email address private but with the iOS 15.2 update, you can use Hide My Email directly from the Mail app.

How does the Hide my email feature work?

hide my email

When you use the Hide My Email feature, all emails sent are forwarded to the spam email address that Apple created specifically for you so you can respond if necessary but the other party will not be able to see your real email address.

This feature is especially important if you believe that a company is likely to share your email address with advertising agencies or other third parties for marketing purposes as providing them with a fake address means that you can delete the address at any time ensuring that no unwanted emails arrive them to your inbox.

How to use hide email feature in iOS 15.2

  • Launch the email app on your iPhone
  • Tap the New Message icon in the lower right corner of the main Mail screen to write a regular message

  • Fill in the TO . field
  • Click the From field Cc / Bc twice

  • Then scroll down the list of available addresses and select Hide my email
  • Now write your email as usual and send it.

Furthermore, as a paid ‌iCloud‌+ subscriber, you can use random email addresses when you are asked to enter your email address on a website in Safari and all you have to do is select the option to hide the email when it appears on the screen.

Finally, you can also deactivate or delete addresses created by Hide My Email by clicking on an address (below New Address) and then selecting Deactivate Email Address so that emails will not be forwarded to you.
