The iOS 15.2 update came with features that Apple had promised early, especially at the Worldwide Developers Conference, and came in this update, and the truth is, great and strongly awaited features, and we mentioned some of them in some detail in separate articles such as App Privacy Report Feature, And an advantage Unlocking the iPhone of the deceased personAnd in this article, we mention the rest of the most important features.

SOS emergency list update

The Emergency SOS menu has been updated, a feature that allows you to call emergency services by pressing the power button and the volume down button whenever you need it without having to unlock your phone.

◉ In the iOS 15.2 update, you can now press the power button quickly five times to start the service starting from iPhone 8 and later, like the previous one but with a different naming, in the past it was “Call with Side Button”, and now it’s Call with 5 Presses.

◉ Or pressing and holding the power button and the volume button together if you prefer, under the name “Call with Hold” currently, and previously it was “Auto Call: Auto Call, and then the countdown to calling emergency services will start. The emergency calling method can be customized in Settings, then Emergency SOS. See the image at the top “on the right is the current update iOS 15.2, and on the left is previously.”

◉ When the emergency call starts counting down, it will count down from 8 instead of just three back before the call is made. So it gives you another five seconds to turn it off when you accidentally start it.

Communication safety

Parents of children in their family groups can use Screen Time or screen time on each child's account to access the new Call Safety feature. With a child's Sensitive Photo Verification turned on, the Messages app will warn them when it detects "using on-device processing only" that they are sending or receiving nude photos.

To enable it, go to Settings - Screen Time - Baby Name - Call Security - Check Sensitive Photos.

When a child receives a photo that may contain nudity, it will be blurred, and when they click to open it, they will get a page with information about how sensitive the photo is, giving them a chance to undo or continue. On the next screen, they will have another opportunity to undo or send a message to an adult.

Child Safety Guidelines

Apart from the new tool available in Messages, Apple has expanded its Siri, Spotlight and Safari search instructions, whereby both parents and children will be able to access additional tips for staying safe online when users search for child exploitation queries. This topic is malicious, and will provide instructions for getting help with this issue.

Tracking in standby power

When Find My Network is enabled for Find My, other Apple devices on the Find My network can help locate your iPhone even when it's offline. For iPhone 11 and later, the network can help locate your iPhone for up to 24 hours after it's turned off.

And now, in iOS 15.2, the network can help find your iPhone for up to 5 hours if it's in Power Reserve mode, which activates when the iPhone battery runs out.

NB

Don't confuse standby power mode with low power mode, which is used when your iPhone is still turned on to help prevent your iPhone from dying, meaning it won't respond to any charger, unless you change the battery or charge a dead battery on your device Powerplay or any customized hardware.

Delete or rename tags in reminders

Tags were introduced in Reminders in the iOS 15 update, but there was no easy way to delete or rename a tag you created and assigned to tasks. But in the iOS 15.2 update, you can select a tag from the tag browser, then tap the three dots (•••), followed by “rename tag” or “delete tag.” Deleting it will remove it from all your reminders, while renaming it will apply At the same time on all assigned reminders.

This should also work in the Notes app, but we haven't seen it active yet.

Macro Control on iPhone 13 Pro

If you have an iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max, you can go to Settings - Camera and switch to Macro Control so you can easily switch to and from the Ultra Wide Lens for photos and videos. When enabled, you'll see a flower icon in the app the camera the closer you are to a subject in the frame; Clicking it will enable or disable macro shooting.

In the camera's "keep settings" menu, there's also a "macro control" switch so that it remembers if you want to use or not use the ultra-wide lens to take close-up photos.

Privacy and security issues fixed

The iOS 15.2 update includes some fixes for privacy and security issues, as with most iOS updates. You can view the full list on Apple's security page for iOS 15.2, but among the important things to note are the following:

Hide live image metadata in SharePlayThere is a major privacy issue with the SharePlay feature of FaceTime that was introduced in iOS 15.1 that made it possible for someone to accidentally leak sensitive user information in the metadata of Live Photos. This issue was fixed in iOS 15.2.

Prevent people who have physical access to your device from seeing your contacts: Another big issue that has been fixed is a lock screen exploit that allowed anyone with physical access to your device to be able to access your contacts via notes on your lock screen.

Lock stored passwords: Another significant issue is that anyone with physical access to your device can be able to access your stored passwords without having to use Face ID or Touch ID authentication. This is now fixed.
