How to schedule a text message on iPhone to be sent at a later time

And if Apple doesn't currently allow scheduling an appointment to send a text message on the iPhone, and you need to send the same message at the same time every day, week, month, or even a year, you can set it up to be done automatically using the Shortcuts app to do so.

Schedule a text message using the Shortcuts app

This is a great way to send text messages from your iPhone regularly at a certain time, and it can also be used to send individual messages, but you will need to delete the shortcut after sending the first message, or it will continue to run and send a message each time.

◉ First open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.

◉ If you haven't set up any shortcuts before, click the blue button labeled Create Personal Automation, and if you already have one, click the + icon in the top corner. And if you want to delete any previously created autos, just swipe left to delete.

◉ From the “New Automation” menu, select the top option for setting “Time of Day” This will be the time when you want to send the message.

◉ Select the time of the day you want to send your message as well as the option to repeat daily, weekly or monthly. Then click on the “Next” button in the top corner.

◉ Select “Send Message” from the suggestions provided by Apple under the “Add Action” button. And if it is not listed, just click on “Add Action” and select “Send Message” or the contact you wish to send to if they are listed as favorite in your contacts and click Next.

◉ If you haven't selected a recipient yet, do so now by clicking on the blue Recipients link. Then click on the blue “Message” link to write your message that will be sent at the scheduled event. Click Next to finish this section.

◉ Check that everything is correct and make adjustments as necessary. And if everything is correct, tap Done at the top right and the autoplay is complete.

The text message will continue to be sent to your iMessage schedule until you delete it in Shortcuts.

Message scheduling apps

And if you prefer to send individual text messages from your iPhone and schedule them for just one date, there are a number of apps available from the App Store.

Each app offers its own view of scheduling text messages and it's free, but it does include in-app purchases to add additional functionality to the scheduling process.

It was one of the coolest and best messaging apps, I wish Apple would modify the messaging app and bring the advantages of BiteSMS to its main app.
