Apple is testing a foldable 9-inch device, but the long-rumored foldable iPhone isn't likely to be released until 2025 or beyond, according to famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

In a tweet, Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple is "actively testing" a device with a foldable 9-inch OLED screen, which could be a new device somewhere between the iPhone and iPad. This device is claimed to be used to evaluate and verify key technologies included in the Apple foldable device, and may not feature the specifications of any final retail product.

Chi Kuo believes that the development of Apple's foldable products will initially focus on medium-sized devices, followed by devices with large screens, before finally expanding to small devices such as the iPhone.

Kuo also revised his predictions from last year, which claimed that Apple will launch a foldable iPhone as soon as 2024, explaining that it is now clear that this prediction needs to be revised until 2025 at the earliest, and added that the first foldable device From Apple, it may be a hybrid between the iPhone and the iPad, or we can simply call it a foldable iPad.

Kuo's comments come in response to a report from The Elec, which claimed that Apple is collaborating with LG to develop a foldable OLED display with an ultra-thin glass cover for future Apple tablets and laptops. In February, screen analyst Ross Young sparked rumors about Apple working on large foldable devices, explaining that the company was exploring all-screen foldable laptops with screens around 20 inches.

Do you think Apple will introduce a foldable device? Have you tried a similar device from another company? How was your experience? Tell us in the comments.
