A new image appeared that claims to display templates for the upcoming iPhone 14 series models, and provides another preview of the relative sizes of the new iPhone, which was rumored a lot in previous days.

New leak of iPhone 14 series templates

It is worth noting that the templates shown in the image obtained from Weibo may have been made for use in the production of third-party iPhone cases rather than the actual phones. And it seemed to come up with unconfirmed details that we've heard in recent months, particularly with regard to the dimensions of the devices.

The first notable difference in the lineup is the lack of an iPhone Mini model, as iPhone sizes are believed to change this year, as Apple is dumping the 5.4-inch iPhone as it turns out to be not as popular as other models.

After seeing the decline in iPhone mini sales, Apple offers larger iPhone sizes for its flagship devices: 6.1 inches for iPhone 14, 6.1 inches for iPhone 14 Pro, 6.7 inches for iPhone 14 Max, and 6.7 inches for iPhone 14 Pro Max . It is expected that the iPhone 14 models look like the iPhone 13 models with the same flat edge design.

Minor changes are expected in the size of the camera bump across the lineup, according to the iPhone 14 Pro Max designs shared by Max Weinbach, which will have a camera thickness of 4.17 mm, or 0.57 mm larger than the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The space occupied by the bump on the back of the iPhone will also increase in size by about 5% in each dimension, starting from the current width of 35.01 mm to 36.73 mm and height from 36.24 mm to 38.21 mm. We still have to figure out the relative changes in the standard iPhone 14 models.

These camera bump changes are also expected to bring improvements to the Ultra Wide camera. And rumors indicated that the iPhone 14 Pro models may see significant improvements in the wide-angle camera and updates to the telephoto lens.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the 2022 iPhone Pro models will feature a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, which will be a significant improvement over the current 12-megapixel camera, and 8K video recording capabilities.

While the image only shows the back of the hardware, iPhone 14 Pro models are expected to come with a new notch, a circular hole for the camera, and a rectangular circular aperture for the face ID systems. This change is expected to be limited to Pro models only, while the standard iPhone 14 models will continue with the old notch.

Apple is expected to present the iPhone 14 models at an event likely to take place in September 2022, if Apple follows previous launch schedules.
