Apple's annual iPhone-centric event is set to begin Wednesday, September 7th, and unlike last year, there will be a personal element of the media invited to test the new Apple devices. We've been hearing rumors about the next generation of iPhones throughout the year. So we know the ins and outs of what to expect. This guide highlights everything we expect to see, and some more remote possibilities, at the September event based on the rumors we've heard so far.

IPhone 14

◉ The biggest change in the iPhone 14 is the ditching of the 5.4-inch iPhone Mini, which has been discontinued due to poor sales. The iPhone 13 mini will be the last iPhone of this size, but there are still four iPhones coming this year.

◉ Apple replaces the iPhone Mini with a larger model, so we can expect to see the 14-inch iPhone 6.1, the 14-inch iPhone 6.7 Plus or Max, the 14-inch iPhone 6.1 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max 6.7 inches.

◉ For many rumors, the standard 6.7-inch iPhone was supposed to be called iPhone 14 Max, but now rumors suggest that it can be called iPhone Plus.

◉ Aside from the new size, the standard iPhone 14‌ models will look almost identical to the iPhone 13‌ models, with most changes going to the more expensive Pro models. There will be no changes to the design and the notch will remain the same.

◉ Rumors indicate that the iPhone 14‌ and 14 Max will not even get an updated A-Series chip, and will continue to use the A15 chip found in the iPhone 13‌ models, and we can say in short that it is the S version of the iPhone 13 with some new features minor.

◉ iPhone 14‌ models get the upgraded Ultra-Wide camera and will also have an upgraded front camera with f/1.9 aperture and autofocus capabilities.

◉ We're expecting 6GB of RAM, up from last year's 4GB, and all iPhone 14‌ models are rumored to have an updated Snapdragon X65 10 Gigabit 5G modem from Qualcomm. The X65 modem offers some satellite calling features and the ability to send emergency text messages and report emergencies in areas without cellular coverage.

◉ It also supports WiFi 6E, and there are rumors of a new purple color that will join black, white, red and blue. The price is expected to remain the same, starting at $799.

IPhone 14 Pro

While minor changes come in the standard iPhone 14 models, the Pro models get more significant updates.

◉ The sizes of 6.1 and 6.7 inches will remain the same, but it is rumored that the notch will be eliminated, and instead, it will be replaced by two holes, one of which is a hole for the front camera and the other is a rectangular hole similar to a medicine capsule for the TrueDepth camera for the face print, and Apple plans to integrate them together using the system.

◉ The space between the two slots will be darkened when the iPhone is in use, making it look like a single slot.

Rumors indicate that Apple will use the space between the holes for microphone and camera indicator lights, but the area between the cutouts would otherwise be black and appear as a single piece.

◉ iPhone 14 Pro models are rumored to include a ProMotion display from 1Hz to 120Hz, which will enable the much-anticipated Always-On Display feature that is expected to work similar to the Apple Watch's always-on display.

◉ The front camera will feature an f/1.9 aperture and autofocus capabilities like the regular iPhone 14‌. There will be a larger, more prominent camera bump to accommodate a new 48MP wide lens with a 21% larger sensor that supports high-resolution photos and 8K video recording.

◉ The telephoto lens will be upgraded from a 6-element lens to a 7-element lens, and we can also see improvements in the ultra-wide camera.

◉ It is expected that there will be 6 GB of RAM, such as iPhone 13 Pro models, a faster Snapdragon X65 10 Gigabit 5G modem, WiFi 6E, and storage space of up to 2 TB. A new lilac color can join the colors of graphite, gold and silver.

◉ With many upgrades, iPhone 14 Pro models can start at a higher price, and Apple may increase prices by about $100. If that happens, the iPhone 14 Pro will start at $1099, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will start at $1199, but no specific pricing details are known at this time.

Apple Watch 8

◉ The Apple Watch 8 is expected to look like the Apple Watch 7, with no noticeable design changes. Apple will continue to offer options in 41 and 45mm sizes, and the S8 chip inside is expected to offer the same performance as the S7.

◉ What we may get is a new temperature sensing feature capable of detecting changes in body temperature. Measuring body temperature from the skin is not as accurate as getting a basal body temperature reading, so it is unlikely that the “Apple Watch 8” will provide a number. It is set to temperature, and instead just monitors changes over time.

◉ A vehicle collision detection feature will also be included, where the accelerometer will detect this and alert emergency services if necessary.

◉ There may be more activity tracking updates than we know, and Apple is working on an updated Low Power Mode. An updated Low Power Mode will allow more functions to work while conserving battery life, rather than limiting all features.

Apple Watch Pro

◉ Along with the Apple Watch 8, Apple is planning to launch the Apple Watch Pro, although it may have a different name, the “Pro” version will have an updated design that has been described as an “evolution of the current rectangular shape.”

◉ It will be larger than the current 7mm Apple Watch 45 and will have a screen measuring two inches diagonally, higher than the 1.9 inch diagonal screen size of the 45mm Apple Watch. The screen resolution will be 410 x 502, and the additional screen space can be used to show additional fitness metrics.

◉ The Apple Watch Pro is not just an advanced version, it's more powerful and targeted at those who need more protection for extreme sports and other intense activities. It will be made of titanium that is more tolerant of wear and tear, and will have a shatter-resistant screen.

◉ Since the Apple Watch Pro is expected to be larger than the Apple Watch 8, it will accommodate a larger battery and can therefore support longer battery life for longer workout times. And with Low Power Mode, the battery can last up to more than a day before needing to be recharged.

◉ XNUMXD images of the upcoming Apple Watch Pro have been shared accurately depicting its design, including a new button on the left side, which the user can customize to launch a specific app, feature, type of exercise, etc. when pressed.

◉ It will have a completely flat screen.

◉ The pictures showed a prominent digital crown and a side button on the right side, which may facilitate access to the controls. Overall, the Pro model looks a lot more rugged than the standard Apple Watch models, in line with reports that it's designed for activities like hiking and extreme sports.

◉ Aside from the new design and larger body, the Apple Watch Pro is expected to include all the features of the Apple Watch 8. It will be more expensive, and its price will be in the range of $900 to $1000.

The new Apple Watch SE

There is a new version of the affordable Apple Watch SE, and Apple is expected to announce it with the Apple Watch 8‌, but there's no word on what new features it might include. Perhaps we can expect a faster processor and an always-on display, a feature that was originally introduced with the Apple Watch 6.

Other possibilities

There are new AirPods and iPads that may be announced as well, but it is not clear if they will be announced at the conference or will be postponed to a second event that may happen in October.

AirPods Pro 2

AirPods Pro have not been updated since its launch in 2019, but there is a new version that may be announced this year. Early rumors suggested that Apple might use a smaller design, but more recent information suggested a design similar to the current one with silicone ear tips and a shank.

The charging case is rumored to have headphone holes that will be able to play sound when the AirPods are lost, and this will be in line with the improved Find My integration. AirPods 3 will offer improved audio, and there will be an updated H1 chip with self-adaptive noise cancellation capabilities.

Apple is rumored to be moving to USB-C in its products, but this year the AirPods Pro are expected to continue to use the Lightning port.

iPad XNUMXth generation

Apple is developing a new low-cost iPad, which could have an updated design. The rumors and leaks indicate that the iPad will have flat edges and rounded corners, while maintaining the Home button and frames thicker than other iPads.

It will come with a 10.5-inch screen, a USB-C port, a faster A14 chip, a single-lens rear camera, 5G connectivity, and a front camera, but without a headphone jack. Prices are expected to be reasonable and affordable for everyone.

IPad Pro

The iPad Pro 11 and 12.9-inch models are expected to see an update this year, and the main update will be a faster M2 chip. The ‌M2‌ chip was used for the first time in the MacBook Air and the 13-inch MacBook Pro, and it will bring improvements in speed and efficiency over the M1 in models. The current ‌iPad Pro‌.

There have been rumors that the 11-inch iPad Pro might get a mini-LED display, but that doesn't seem to happen due to cost and other issues.

The iPad Pro is rumored to have a version of MagSafe Wireless that charges much like the iPhone, perhaps with a larger glass Apple logo that could facilitate the charging feature. Reverse wireless charging is also a possibility, so the iPad can be used to charge other devices as well.

Apple Pencil

As for the Apple Pencil, it doesn't look like it will get an update this year, as there has been no new information about it for some time.

As for the conference time and how to watch, there will be a detailed article on this.
