M2 chip and M2 Pro chip

Apple today announced the M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets, next-generation chipsets that take the power-efficient performance of Apple Silicon chips to new heights. The M2 Pro chip advances the architecture of the M2 chip to deliver up to a 12-core CPU, up to 19-core GPU, and up to 32GB of fast unified memory combined.

The M2 Max chip builds on the capabilities of the M2 Pro chip, including up to 38-core GPU, twice the bandwidth of unified memory, and up to 96GB of unified memory. Its industry-leading performance per watt makes it the world's most powerful and energy-efficient chip for professional laptops. Both chips also feature custom-optimized technology, including a faster Neural Engine with 16 cores and Apple's powerful Media Engine. Professional performance is what the M2 Pro chip brings to the Mac mini for the first time, while the M2 Pro chip and M2 Max chip take even more performance and game-changing capabilities into the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro.

The new Mac mini
