With the Apple Watch, you can go back to where you came from if you get lost

If someone gets lost somewhere or gets lost it's a problem, and to make matters worse, there's no coverage or service on their phone, and map apps may not be able to rescue them. But if he has an iPhone 14 or Apple Watch, he might be able to survive (if he had an Android, he has no hope of survival 😂), thanks to the emergency satellite service in the iPhone 14, or Apple Watch through a feature called “Backtrack.” Return”, learn with us about this feature and how to use it, and do not forget to share the article so that the loved ones benefit, as this may be of help to them one day.

How to use the waypoints feature

Backtrack is available on Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch 6, and later with watchOS 9 and later, and is in the Compass app on your watch. Waypoints are not available on Family Setup devices.

Before using the feature, be sure to follow these steps on your iPhone:

◉ Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services and enable Location Services.

◉ On the same page, scroll down and tap Compass, choose While Using the App, and enable Precise Location.

◉ Return to the previous page and scroll down, choose System Services and enable Compass Calibration, then choose Significant Locations on this page and enable it.

◉ You will need to allow your iPhone to access these location data points for the waypoints feature to work properly.

How to use the Waypoints feature on the Apple Watch

After enabling the required location access settings, open the compass app on your Apple Watch, then do the following steps:

◉ Press a button Waypoint to add your current location.

◉ Press the back path button, footprints icon in the bottom corner of the clock screen.

◉ Click Start to let the Apple Watch track your route, the Back Track button will become the Pause button The Compass app starts tracking your route.

◉ Press the pause button when you are ready to go back to where you came from, then press “Retrace Steps”, your starting location will appear on the compass, and the watch will guide you to the place to return, indicated by the inverted arrow, then follow the white line In the application "compass" back to where you started.

◉ Once back, tap the footprints icon again and select Delete Steps to clear the data.

We highly suggest testing this feature near your home to make sure it works properly. So that everything goes as it should, and leave nothing to experiment when danger occurs. You can enable Path Back manually when you're in places without a cellular signal, but it also works automatically.

The famous iPhone application developer, David Smith, discovered how to activate the automatic “waypoints” feature on the Apple Watch.

In case you forget to activate it manually, you can open the compass app on the watch and tap on the footprints icon in the bottom corner, and you will see a window asking you for recent locations.

And Smith discovered that tapping “Allow” on this screen gives the Apple Watch access to your recent route, and you can use this feature to easily track your steps.

This option can help you in emergency situations, and we strongly recommend that you manually enable Return Path if you are not sure of your route. In this way, there would be no room for error and loss in the deserts and wastelands.

Watch a simplified video of how the feature works:

Did you set up the return path feature? And did you try it? Tell us in the comments.

This is a stupid advantage, someone has an iPhone and it works, and the iPhone or Google map puts a point on it, how can it get lost 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This feature works without internet connection, especially in remote areas, and it also works indoors

The compass application did not appear on my website service page, and of course it is not available on the watch. Knowing that the application was downloaded on the phone, I do not know what is the problem?

quotation :
(…) The famous iPhone application developer, David Smith, discovered how to activate the automatic “Waypoints” feature on the Apple Watch. ”
end quote
I think the sentence is out of place, as it predicts a discovery, as if the code had come down from the sky 😋
Perhaps saying: “show” or “highlight” an application developer (…) how to activate a feature… would be better, and God knows best.
Accept my passing with my best regards and thank you for your efforts in bringing technology closer to the common people like me 🤗

This phrase itself is a mockery of Android users..
We do not know the author of the article.
(If he had an android, he would have no hope of surviving 😂)
Not everyone uses an iPhone.

Why don't you bring them back to Android 🤗 I'm an ex-Apple fanatic! Now my view of Android has changed and my mind is trying it!

Is it possible that the watch supports the sixth generation and I didn't know until now😲! I thought it supported from generation 7 and above! The SE watch was told that the second generation only supports it!
The satellite communication feature is coming to the Samsung S23!

Yes, it is true that it supports both generations SE and the sixth generation and above. Technical support for Apple has been contacted and confirmed!

And did the ancient man have an iPhone to know the directions ..
The author's sarcasm knows no bounds, as if a piece of metal was sacred to him.

And did the ancient man have a device like the one you used to publish your comment, Brother Mustafa?? But that didn't stop you from using it and finding this technique useful.
So why do you criticize others for using technologies that you may not need, but they do need them?

Neither sacred nor necessary, the whole story is that I am talking to a technology that can be with people and they are not familiar with it, and I, as a bighair, was impressed by the honesty 😂

This is a good feature. May Allah reward you. I will use it next time I want to go back to the parking lot. I always lose my car and waste time looking for it..

    comments user
    Mohammed Jassim

You have the remote control, the car can sound a beep or light to determine its location, or the best thing is to put an Apple Airtag to guide you on the path. If you have an iPhone 11, then why not!

    Abu Aamer

The problem these days is that parking lots are large and have several floors, especially in large malls, and I have always forgotten on which floor and in which direction I parked the car.
