10 things Apple didn't tell us about the new iPad Pro and iPad Air

If you look closely at The new iPad Pro and iPad Air For 2024, you will notice that despite the advanced technologies, significant improvements and new design, there are some things that Apple has not highlighted much. Some of them may not be considered a major upgrade, and may even be less than previous models, in addition to some small differences between the different models that you should know before purchasing any device. Below, we've rounded up ten things Apple isn't particularly focused on about the new iPad Pro and iPad Air.

From iPhoneIslam.com Two iPad Air tablets sit on a wooden table, each with a detachable keyboard. The iPad Air on the left has a black keyboard, while the one on the right has a white keyboard. Both screens display application icons.

There is no ultra-wide camera on the iPad Pro

From iPhoneIslam.com, A close-up of a silver iPad Pro with a dual camera on the back, held by someone in a crowded indoor space, showcasing Apple's signature sleek design.

The iPad Pro 2024 comes with a 12-megapixel main camera and an f/1.8 lens aperture, just like its predecessor, but it lacks the 10-megapixel wide-lens or ultra-wide camera found in the iPad Pro 2022. Apple limited itself to a rear camera with Only one lens instead of a dual-lens camera.

But it still has LiDAR technology, and True Tone flash is optimized to produce images with natural colors and proportional to the actual lighting of the scene, but the removal of one of the cameras from the iPad devices is a surprising step. Does this step mean that Apple believes that rear cameras are not very important in iPads? Is the camera on the iPad really not important to you? Tell us in the comments.

You won't get a UK or EU charger

From iPhoneIslam.com, A close-up side view of a person holding a thin iPad Pro showing the USB-C port and speaker grilles against a wooden surface background.

Apple stopped attaching chargers to the iPhone box some time ago, and some have assumed that this will also apply to the new iPads, but this has not yet been fully achieved. Apple has begun selling some new iPad models without chargers in the United Kingdom and the European Union, and users only get a USB-C cable, while customers in the United States and Australia still get chargers with their devices. This change, which Apple justifies as being better for the environment, may indicate a future trend of charging these devices without chargers in all regions.

The 1TB and 2TB Pro models have a higher processor and RAM

From iPhoneIslam.com, a person interacts with an iPad Pro connected to a keyboard on a wooden table. Another similar device is displayed in the background.

Although the new iPads are powerful and contain M4 processors, the 256GB or 512GB versions are not as powerful as the 1TB and 2TB models, which have an additional core in the CPU, bringing the total number of cores to ten compared to nine. On models with less storage capacity.

The additional core is a high-performance core, giving the 1TB and 2TB models four performance cores, while the other models only have three.

Additionally, the 1TB and 2TB models have twice the RAM, coming with 16GB instead of 8GB. The fact is that Apple has been doing this for some time in its iPad Pro devices, so it is not surprising.

The 13-inch iPad Air has a brighter screen

From iPhoneIslam.com, a person uses a stylus to interact with an iPad Pro, showing document notes on the left and a "CORECORE Trend Research Report" with a blue graphic on the right.

You might think that the only difference between the 13-inch iPad Air and the 11-inch iPad Air is just the screen size. But in fact, the 13-inch model has a brighter screen, with a peak brightness of 600 nits compared to just 500 nits on the 11-inch model.

This difference in brightness may not be very noticeable most of the time, but it does mean that the 13-inch iPad Air comes with a better, larger screen.

The iPad Pro has fewer microphones

From iPhoneIslam.com, a close-up of an iPad Pro with a slim profile resting on a wooden surface. The background is slightly blurred, showing people standing and interacting.

Apple has promoted the fact that the new iPad Pro comes with “studio-quality” microphones, but the previous iPad Pro also has this feature, and it contains five microphones compared to only four in the new 2024 iPad Pro.

It is unclear now whether this difference will have a significant impact. Four microphones seems like a reasonable number, and it is possible that they have been improved in other ways, but in terms of number, the iPad Pro 2022 is superior in this aspect.

The 13-inch iPad Air has better bass

From iPhoneIslam.com, an iPad Pro is displayed with a keyboard case on a table, displaying video editing software. Many people in the background are using smartphones and camera.

The 13-inch iPad Air is also touted as having “horizontal stereo speakers with twice the bass power,” while the 11-inch model lacks the “twice the bass power” part.

So, although both models have stereo speakers, if you want powerful, rich sound, the 13-inch iPad Air is the better choice.

There is no always-on display feature

From iPhoneIslam.com, a modern art display featuring abstract, multi-colored neon light shapes on a dark background, inside a brightly lit room with large windows and additional decor, where an iPad Pro is used to control the lighting effects.

With the move to OLED screen technology on the iPad, the lowest screen refresh rate is 10 Hz, down from 24 Hz in the previous iPad Pro. However, this is still not enough for the always-on display feature exclusive to the iPhone and Apple Watch.

Presumably, the reason for this is that at 10Hz, the screen still consumes a lot of battery compared to 1Hz on the iPhone 15 Pro. Although the Tandem OLED screen technology used on the new iPad has reduced power consumption by 20-40% compared to standard OLED technology.

So despite the improvement in the screen refresh rate, the always-on display feature is still not available in the iPad Pro 2024 due to battery consumption limitations.

Nano Glass is limited to the 1TB and 2TB iPad Pro

From iPhoneIslam.com, A person using a stylus to draw on an iPad Air displays the word "Hello" and a drawing of a face. There is another tablet on the nearby table.

One of the new features in the iPad Pro 2024 is nano glass for the screen. This is a feature that Apple already offers in its Studio Display, and it offers very low reflection.

It's a paid upgrade, but it's only available on the 1TB or 2TB iPad Pro. Apple assumes that a certain group wants this feature in these large capacities.

No nano SIM slot

From iPhoneIslam.com, A person holds a silver Apple iPad Pro with the rear camera visible, while others look at the devices in the background.

eSIM is now the only option available for 2024 iPads. This will undoubtedly limit you to carriers that support this technology if you want to use cellular data. This change is not surprising since Apple has already removed the physical SIM cards from the iPhone, at least in the United States.

With this, Apple has completely abandoned traditional SIM cards in the latest iPad devices, and has moved to digital eSIM chips only, in a move aimed at keeping pace with technological development and unifying communication standards across all its products.

The ninth generation iPad no longer exists

From iPhoneIslam.com, a sleek iPad Pro with various app icons displayed on the home screen, resting elegantly on a gray pillow.

When Apple launched the iPad Pro and iPad Air for 2024, it also discontinued the iPad 10.2 model for 2021. The reason for this is that the iPad 10.2 was the last tablet to come with a Lightning port, while Apple switched to using a USB port. -C Modern in all new iPad devices.

Furthermore, the iPad 10.2 is no longer the latest standard iPad model, as Apple has reduced the price of the 10.9 iPad 2022 to replace it.

With this step, Apple has gotten rid of its last tablet that used the old Lightning port, and has completely moved to the USB-C port in all its devices.

Do these improvements and changes affect your decision to purchase any of the 2024 iPad devices? Tell us in the comments.

The best thing is to use the OLED screen on the tablet. > In this way, we see dozens of companies applying it for half the price, which is really excellent.

This means that I have to turn off the phone screen, and then turn off the phone completely while it is charging

Hello Abdullah Sabah 🌞, There is no need to turn off the phone completely while charging. Just make sure to close unnecessary apps and reduce the screen brightness, this is enough to speed up the charging process and preserve your phone's battery. 📱⚡️🔋

I want a way to speed up the charging of the phone because it is making me crazy

    MIMV. AI

Hello Abdullah Sabah👋, to speed up the phone’s charging, you can follow some steps. First, use a high-powered charger (if it is compatible with your phone), second, close applications running in the background and turn off the phone screen while charging. Finally, keep your phone in a cool place while charging as overheating of the device can slow down the charging speed. 😊🔌📱💨

I expect the compelling reason for Apple to abandon the SIM slot is the thinness of the iPad. If it were present, it would cause a problem of bending and weakness in this area, as happened when I bent it from the USB C side and it broke!
The back camera is not needed on any tablet!

I want to download a video of about 2 GB and send the link to a friend of mine to download it. Is there a way?

    comments user
    MIMV. AI

Hi Hocine Souheib 🙋‍♂️, of course you can! You can use cloud storage services like iCloud, Dropbox, or Google Drive to upload the video and then share the link with your friend. Just make sure you have enough space in your cloud storage account. And remember, if your friend uses an iPhone or iPad, he or she may need a special app to play some types of files. 📲🚀👍

The strange thing is that I did not hear about the development of USBC Thunderbolt for the new iPad Pro, because Apple is interested in talking about this every time.

    MIMV. AI

Welcome Arkan 🙋‍♂️, I noticed that you are interested in developments related to USBC Thunderbolt. Unfortunately, Apple did not emphasize this point, especially in announcing the new devices. However, the company always seeks to improve and expand the delivery capabilities of its products. Don't worry, I will keep the heartbeat (or should I say the processor's pulse?) and update you as soon as there are any developments in this regard. 🍎🚀

Question ..
I saw that the color of the cable that comes with the new iPad Pro is different from the one that comes with the iPhone 15 Pro
Does it also differ in features?

    comments user
    MIMV. AI

Hello Abu Radwan 🙋‍♂️, Indeed, the cable that comes with the new iPad Pro differs from the one that came with the iPhone 15 Pro in color. But this change does not include features, as both are USB-C types and there are no differences in their functions or charging speed. 📱🔌💡
