In iOS 18, you can change the size of the widget instead of deleting it and installing it again, but!

Apple made it easier to change the size of the widget on the iPhone home screen in the iOS 18 update, so you will no longer have to delete it to add other sizes. You can now adjust the size of the widget directly from your home screen to any size you want, but there are some very important things you should know that we will mention at the end of the article. The new method also works on iPad running iPadOS 18.

From iPhoneIslam.com, a close-up of a smartphone screen showing iOS 18's widget and Home screen editing options, with icons for pinning widgets visible.

To change the size of the widget in older updates, you had to press and hold the widget, then “Remove Widget”, then open the home screen editor, click on the plus sign symbol (+), search for the widget again and choose the size you want, then Add it, and so on. It was a tedious process, you are limited to certain sizes and you have to take some steps to choose from. But that is completely different in the iOS 18 update.

How to change the size of widgets and app icons in iOS 18

Thanks to the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 update, you no longer need to fiddle with the widget gallery to adjust their sizes. Here's how to easily change their sizes:

Use quick actions to resize

From iPhoneIslam.com, iPhone screen showing stock widget with AAPL, NFLX and GOOG values. The Edit Widget and Edit Home Screen options are open, with one option to change the widget size selected. Show time: 09:41.

Simply touch and hold the current widget, and you'll see the new resizing options in the quick actions menu. You can also touch and hold the app icon on your home screen to turn it into a widget, if the app already has a widget. Quick Actions provide up to four resizing options:

Application icon: The grid button turns the widget into an application icon. This app icon will not replace any app icons already on your home screen.

Small widget: The current application icon or widget is converted into a small two-dimensional widget.

Average widget: Converts the current app icon or widget into a medium-sized 2x4 widget.

Large widget: It turns the current application icon or widget into a large 4×4 widget.

From iPhoneIslam.com The iOS 18 smartphone screen displays various app icons including Photos, Reminders, Notes, and Maps. The Stock Widget displays Apple, Netflix, and Alphabet stock prices and trends. Gradient background. Widget installation options and resizing of the widget are available for customization.

Drag to resize the widget

You can also drag the corner of the widget to make it larger or smaller, but you can't turn it into an app icon that way.

From iPhoneIslam.com The iPhone home screen displays icons for various apps and the iOS operating system. The background image shows the sun setting over the water. Some apps have a small minus sign, indicating that they can be removed or reorganized. In iOS 18, you can resize the widget for better customization.

Peace, mercy and blessings of God
First: A word of thanks is not enough for what you provide us here with information and ideas. You have all thanks and gratitude.
Second: I updated my device to the new system 18, which is really special, special, special
It has a feeling of difference from previous versions, even if it is simple, but it is different

But I had two problems with it:
- First: Apple headphones do not appear among the devices associated with the account, so I decided to delete them and re-pair them with the device, but unfortunately I was not able to connect them and the headphone does not appear for me when I search for it ((I made a mistake by deleting it 😢)) At least it was working 😢😢

– Second: The hotspot feature does not work
I tried to connect the computer to the mobile Wi-Fi, but to no avail. It shows me trying to connect and then it disconnects. It tries to connect and then disconnects.

This is my current problem, perhaps the first is the hardest and most burning 🥹 because I deleted it in the hope of re-associating it

If you or one of the followers has experience and can help, I would be grateful in advance
Abu Muhammad
