Apple surpasses Microsoft to become the world's most valuable company again

Apple's share price rose after the keynote speech at the WWDC 2024 developer conference, after it presented its artificial intelligence technologies under the name “Apple Intelligence,” which helped increase Apple's value and made it surpass Microsoft to become the most valuable company in the world, with its market value reaching... $3.28 trillion compared to $3.25 trillion for Microsoft. Alogic unveils a 5-inch 27K touch screen

Alogic has announced several new monitors, including a 5-inch 27K touch monitor, ultra-wide monitors, and portable touch monitors.

The Clarity Touch 5K 27-inch UHD display has a similar resolution to the Apple Studio Display or LG UltraFine 5K, but with the added benefit of touch. It supports HDR 400, charges connected Mac devices with a power of 65 watts via USB-C, and has multiple connectivity options.

There are three new ultra-wide displays from Alogic, including a 34-inch Edge, a 40-inch and a 34-inch Horizon touchscreen that can be converted into a tablet.

It launched the 15-inch Xtend screens and the 17-inch Xpand portable touchscreen screen with 5K resolution as well.

It also announced a 28-inch Slate dual screen with a QHD vertical resolution of 16:18. All of these screens will be launched in August and September 2024.

The Battery section in iOS 18 tells you if you're using a slow charger

In iOS 18, Apple added a new feature to the Battery section in Settings that tells you if you charged the iPhone using a “slow” charger. Slow charging periods are displayed with an orange bar in the pane that shows battery usage and charging over the last 24 hours or the last 10 days.

This feature appears when slow wireless chargers such as 5W are used. Which helps iPhone users understand the reason for the slow charging speed. There is currently no option to alert when using a slow charger.

The iCloud interface got a major overhaul in iOS 18

Apple has redesigned the iCloud section found in Settings in your Apple Account section. The new design contains most of the previous functions, but the new “Saved to iCloud” feature gives clearer information about storage space.

The “Save to iCloud” feature replaces the previous “Apps Using iCloud” and provides more information, so you can see the amount of space used by the application, the number of stored notes, the number of saved photos, and more, for example. When you click on each section, you will get additional details.

Tapping on the storage bar will show the full breakdown and list of apps using the most storage space.

There's also a Recommended For You suggestions interface that suggests things like deleting inactive backups and upgrading to iCloud+, along with quick access to iCloud backups.

macOS Sequoia update includes classic Mac wallpapers

macOS Sequoia comes with new dynamic home screen wallpapers and screensavers of classic Mac icons, which can be used on other Apple devices. On device, the Macintosh wallpaper animates and scrolls through classic graphics, with multiple color options. Apple also added the “Helios” wallpaper that appears in macOS Sequoia marketing materials and Apple images, gradually moving. To see wallpapers in their full glory, macOS Sequoia is required.

Blackmagic Design unveils a spatial video camera to capture content for Apple Vision Pro glasses

Blackmagic Design has unveiled a new camera, the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive, designed specifically for Apple Glass. This camera shoots high-resolution 3D spatial videos with a wide field of view and excellent detail for an immersive virtual reality experience. Its main features are:

◉ 180 degree field of view.

◉ 8,160 x 7,200 resolution per eye for sharp images.

Apple reveals the number of iPhone devices that were running iOS 17 before the developers conference

Apple shared the latest statistics on the number of users who updated their phones to iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 versions ahead of the developer conference. Based on devices that accessed the App Store on June 9, the day before the developer conference, the percentages were as follows:

◉ 77% of iPhone users have updated to iOS 17.

◉ 68% of iPad users have updated to iPadOS 17.

◉ 86% of iPhones that were launched in the past four years were updated to iOS 17.

◉ 77% of iPads launched in the past four years have been updated to iPadOS 17.

These will be the latest statistics for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 updates before the new iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 updates are released.

The iOS 17 update rate was slightly lower than last year's iOS 16, which reached 81% compared to 77% for the iOS 17 update.

Apple and Canon announce a mirrorless camera lens designed to capture spatial video

Apple and Canon have both announced the development of a new mirrorless camera lens designed to capture spatial video for the Apple Glasses. The new lens is designed for the Canon EOS R7 and features dual lenses that mimic the human field of vision.

It features high-speed autofocus, ensuring that even in difficult lighting conditions, videographers can capture clear spatial video. After recording, the footage can be processed using an application EOS VR Utility, which converts video into spatially enhanced content.

Elon Musk threatens to ban Apple devices over ChatGPT integration

Elon Musk threatened to ban Apple devices from his companies, due to the integration of ChatGPT technologies into its new systems iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. This feature allows Siri to use ChatGPT to answer complex queries with the user's consent. During Apple's developer conference, Craig Federighi confirmed that users will be free to use or not use ChatGPT, and that data will not be logged or stored.

iOS 18 offers more charging limit options over the iPhone 15

All four iPhone 15 models feature a setting that prevents them from charging more than 80% while powered on, like other iPhones, which could improve battery life by reducing the time the battery is fully charged.

But in the iOS 18 update, Apple took this feature a step further by adding new options for charging limits of 85%, 90%, and 95%.
