Apple suspends annual subscription plan that would have given customers a new iPhone every year

Apple was thinking of a new way to boost iPhone sales. So it was thinking of introducing a new idea to customers, which is the idea of an annual subscription. In short, customers would pay monthly amounts in exchange for getting new iPhones every year. But here are all the reasons that push Apple to cancel the idea in the following paragraphs, God willing.

From iPhoneIslam.com, a smartphone with a glowing digital apple on top, featuring a grid of interconnected lines, is now available with an at-home subscription service for premium features.

What are the reasons that hinder the launch of Apple's annual subscription service?

Apple was looking to offer an annual subscription service to ease the financial burden on customers of paying for the phone once or using installment services. Therefore, it would allow the customer to get the new phone and then pay a monthly fee that would be added to the same Apple account that is used to download applications and subscribe to services. In this way, the customer would be able to purchase a new Apple phone every year without any financial burden.

From iPhoneIslam.com, a person draws an upward-facing arrow on a chart with glowing circles in the background, symbolizing growth or progress, reflecting the success of his annual subscription service.

The annual subscription service wasn’t just about improving the customer experience, it was also about increasing Apple’s phone sales and generating higher revenues from the product that was released annually. Also, if the service proved effective, it was likely to be applied to all Apple products on the market, not just smartphones.

From iPhoneIslam.com, the Apple Pay logo features a white apple icon next to the word “Pay” on a black background, subtly reminding users of the convenient annual subscription service available for seamless transactions.

But surprisingly, the opposite happened, as some confidential sources close to Bloomberg indicated that Apple abandoned the idea due to some regulatory issues and software problems. Moreover, the success of the annual subscription service will upset some telecom companies that depend on providing installment services for a large part of their profits.

On the other hand, the decision to cancel the service comes months after the Apple Pay Later service was suddenly shut down shortly after its launch. The Apple Pay Later service allowed Apple customers to purchase products and then pay for them in multiple installments.

What do you think? Would you rely on the service to buy a new iPhone every year? Let us know in the comments.

So is there any hope of implementing this idea?

We don't think there is any hope for this service to ever come to fruition. And even if it does, it will only be available in the US.

It may have been an idea that he might implement later after the acceleration of the world's phone companies in innovation and the fierce competition in the phone market.

I pay once for a new or relatively new phone and keep it unless updates are stopped! Buy a new one!
Of course, this rule does not apply to me almost! I am on my beloved iPhone SE1 even though I currently have a broken mini12!

Hi Mohammed Jassim 😊, it seems like you're a fan of both old and new devices, which is great! Don't worry, Apple always makes sure to provide updates for as long as possible for their older devices. As for the broken mini12, I hope it gets fixed soon 🛠️. Enjoy reading 📖!

The idea is really excellent, but unfortunately it was cancelled because it would have actually relieved the user of the burden of paying in advance for the product, especially with the rise in prices, especially the price of the iPhone.

Welcome, Ashraf Elsawy 🙌🏻! I totally agree with you, the idea was great and very innovative. But it seems that the regulatory and software hurdles have outweighed the benefits. Unfortunately, this is life in the world of technology: some great ideas come and go. Hopefully, Apple will find an alternative solution that will relieve users of the burden of paying for devices up front, especially in light of the high prices 🚀🍏.
