Apple releases iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 update

System Updates 10 months since publication

After a month of beta testing, Apple today released iOS 18.3 to all iPhone users. The update includes changes to two major Apple Intelligence features for devices that support the feature, as well as a host of major fixes and improvements for all iPhones.

What's new in iOS 18.3, according to Apple

Visual Intelligence with Camera Control (All iPhone 16 Models)

  • Add an event to your calendar from a poster or flyer
  • Easily identify plants and animals

Notification Summaries (All iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max Models)

  • Easily manage notification summary settings from the lock screen.
  • The updated style of short notifications better distinguishes them from other notifications by using italic text in addition to the letter
  • Notification summaries for news and entertainment apps are temporarily unavailable, and users who opt in will be able to see them again when the feature becomes available.

This update includes the following improvements and bug fixes:

  • The calculator repeats the last calculation when you click the equal sign again.
  • Fixes an issue where the keyboard might disappear when initiating a typed Siri request
  • Fixes an issue where audio continues to play until the song ends even after Apple Music is closed
Before updating, make sure to take a backup copy of the contents of your device, whether on iCloud or on the iTunes application

To update your device, take the following steps ...

To download the update, you must connect to Wi-Fi. It is preferable to connect your device to the charger, then press the “Update Now” button.
