New designs for the devices have been leaked. IPhone 17 Through computer-generated CAD drawings and schematics, published by the famous leaker “Majin Bu”, these designs reveal clear changes to the rear camera design of both the standard iPhone 17, the all-new ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, as well as the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models.

From iPhoneIslam.com, four gold iPhone 17 Air smartphones with back covers, each featuring an abstract design of colorful shapes and multiple camera lenses, are displayed side by side on a light blue background.

Leak reliability

While Majin Bu has had some correct leaks in the past, it has also been wrong on occasion, such as a rumor about an imminent iPad 11 release in 2023. This time, the leak has been backed by other reliable leakers on Weibo, such as Fixed Focus Digital, Digital Chat Station, and Ice Universe, who confirmed that the design matches information coming from Apple’s supply chain in China. Digital Chat Station confirmed the leak’s authenticity, saying, “The design does look like it.”

All-new iPhone 17 Pro camera design

From iPhoneIslam.com, a close-up shot of the back of the smartphone, showing three camera lenses and a flash in a sleek metal design, reminiscent of the new camera found in the latest models.

According to available information, Apple will make a radical change to the camera design for the iPhone 17 Pro models, as it will abandon the prominent square shape currently used, and will rely on a horizontal metal camera bar that extends across the width of the iPhone, giving it a distinctive and perhaps elegant look, which some may not like at first, but perhaps because it is new and needs some time to get used to the new shape.

The leaker “Fixed Focus Digital” claims that the iPhone 17 Pro models will use a mix of materials in their design, with the glass in the Apple logo area being integrated into an overall metal frame, which explains the red areas seen in the leaked schematics. This change appears to enhance the durability of the device, as the glass will allow for continued wireless charging support, while the metal frame will make the device less susceptible to breakage.

Apple is also testing a new feature in the iPhone 17 Pro that allows it to charge other devices wirelessly, known as reverse charging, where the device can supply power to other Apple products.

iPhone 17 Air Plus Replacement Design

From iPhoneIslam.com, a black smartphone with the Apple logo, featuring a sleek design, and appearing from the back and side on a blue background with the numbers “1” and “7” in white, this could be the long-awaited iPhone 17 Air.

The all-new iPhone 17 Air will also see major changes, replacing the previous Plus model, and will be a slimmer phone with a horizontal camera bar design, but it will have only a single lens instead of a dual or triple system.

As for the standard iPhone 17, it is expected to retain the same camera design as the iPhone 16 series, which will enhance the difference between the standard models and the Pro versions.

Frame: Aluminum or Titanium?

From iPhoneIslam.com, four specific smartphone designs showcasing different camera designs on a white background, reminiscent of the sleek new iPhone 17 series.

According to popular analyst Jeff Pu, the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature aluminum frames, while the iPhone 17 Air will be made of titanium. Apple first introduced titanium with the Pro models in 2023, but it is said to be moving to aluminum for the upcoming Pro models for environmental reasons.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 series during its annual event in September, as usual. Watch the video with the new design:
