New iOS 19 leaks reveal an exciting, but controversial, new design.

New leaks about iOS 19 confirm major design changes that support previously reported circular icons and a floating tab bar, with touches inspired by Apple's visionOS system for glasses.

From iPhoneIslam.com, the iOS 19 logo stands out prominently above a sleek base displaying icons for Phone, Browser, Messages, and Music apps against a beautiful blurred background, hinting at a new design that promises exciting features.

Every year, millions of users around the world await Apple's new and major iOS updates, and this year is no exception. As WWDC 2025 approaches next May, leaks have begun to emerge revealing a new design for iOS 19. These changes are not just minor improvements; they represent a revolution in appearance and performance that could change the way we interact with the iPhone. Whether you're a fan of the new design or looking for new features and improvements, let's take a look at what Apple has in store for us.

Overview of the new iOS 19 design

According to recent leaks from inside sources, Apple appears to be preparing to introduce a design inspired by the previously mentioned visionOS, which features a transparent glass appearance that some claim adds a sense of depth and elegance. Let's review the most prominent anticipated changes:

circular icons

From iPhoneIslam.com, the smartphone features a sleek new design, featuring a home screen with various app icons, including Messages, Calendar, and Settings, all on a sleek gradient background—a nod to the upcoming iOS 19 updates and potential surprises.

One of the most controversial leaks is Apple's move to more rounded app icons. Currently, it uses square icons with rounded corners, known as "squircles." However, with iOS 19, we may see circular or semi-circular icons.

According to the leaks, the user can long-press the icon to transform it from the traditional shape to a circular one, with animation.

Apple seems to be trying to bring the iPhone experience closer to visionOS, creating visual harmony between its products.

floating tab bar

From iPhoneIslam.com, a close-up of a smartphone screen shows a sleek new iOS 19 design, featuring a Music app interface with an "off" view. Home screen icons, Radio, Library, and Search are neatly lined up at the bottom. Could these be glimpses of a potential leak?

Its purpose is to navigate between tabs in your favorite apps like the App Store, Apple TV, Messages, Phone, and others. It's bigger than ever, with a pill-shaped rectangular tab bar appearing at the bottom of many of the core apps like the ones we mentioned.

From iPhoneIslam.com, a close-up of a smartphone screen showing the App Store icons for Tinder and Duolingo, along with "Get" and "Open" buttons. The bottom navigation bar shows the Today, Games, Apps, Arcade, and Search apps. Rumors suggest these apps may feature a new design compatible with iOS 19 releases.

Also in the Search tab, an elongated search bar appears next to a circular button that you can click to return to the expanded tab bar. The video shows new animations when switching between tabs in the ribbon.

In the Messages app, it appears the search bar will always be fixed, making it easier for users to quickly access the search function at any time.

From iPhoneIslam.com, a phone notification pops up with a text message saying, "Bro, they're canceling the iPhone, did you hear!!!" amid murmurs of speculation about iOS 19 features.

Transparency and glass effects

◉ Leaks indicate that Apple will adopt greater transparency for interactive elements such as buttons, menus, notifications, and even the volume and brightness levels in Control Center. The appearance of permission prompts for camera and microphone access has also been updated.

◉ When you long-press an app icon, the Haptic Touch menu will appear with rounded corners and a translucent appearance that appears to float above the screen.

From iPhoneIslam.com, a smartphone screen showing options for managing widgets and apps like FaceTime, Calendar, Photos, and Camera hints at the elegant design changes in iOS 19.

◉ Prosser noted that iOS 19 will add a subtle lighting effect to some elements, contributing to the expected glass-like appearance. For example, he noted that the virtual controls for the flashlight and camera at the bottom of the lock screen will glow when the iPhone is moved, adding an element of vibrancy and visual interaction with the device's movement.

From iPhoneIslam.com, a close-up of a smartphone screen shows a flashlight icon inside a circular button in the bottom right, hinting at a new design. A slider is partially visible on the left, possibly an iOS 19 feature.

 Improvements to core applications

From iPhoneIslam.com, a hand holds a smartphone displaying a weather widget alongside several app icons on the home screen, hinting at the sleek design of iOS 19.

The changes will not be limited to the overall design, but will extend to the core applications that you use daily.

◉ The messaging app will receive significant improvements, especially in the search feature as we mentioned earlier.

◉ Permanent search bar, you don't need to scroll to access the search bar, it will remain available at the top of the screen.

◉ The new design makes searching for conversations or files faster and easier.

◉ Leaks indicate updates to the camera app interface, with new buttons and effects that make taking photos a more enjoyable experience.

◉ The expected design changes extend to the Settings app, which appears to be getting slimmer toggles, giving the app a sleeker, more modern look.

From iPhoneIslam.com, the smartphone's sleek, redesigned interface displays a settings menu with options like Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular, and Battery — hints at features that may be revealed in iOS 19.

◉ Even the virtual keyboard will get a visual update, with a more rounded design and transparent effects.

From iPhoneIslam.com, a close-up of a smartphone screen showing a keyboard with a search bar above it, a nod to iOS 19's sleek design. The text input field shows the word "Front," with emoji and voice input icons below the keyboard.

I didn't find anything encouraging. As for the appearance, there isn't a big difference. As for the features, if we exclude artificial intelligence, there's nothing new. The iPhone is still unable to offer real features like other companies. It has become a boring device, even though I've been using an iPhone since the 4s until now. The only advantage is security and privacy.

My problem with Apple since the days of the 4s is that they still have a problem with the battery. When I got the 13 Pro, I said, “Okay, now it’s supposed to be a better issue.” But, I found that the battery was draining quickly within a year, and after XNUMX years, the battery reached XNUMX. I went to change it from Apple. They told me XNUMX dirhams, even though the first one was XNUMX. It has become difficult for someone to change with this company, and it is also not useful to go to Android if you are not convinced of it, even though Apple is doing everything in the device now. I was confused with it. I told them at Apple, “When should I change?” They said, “Another XNUMX years and the device will remain the same, and then change.”

iPhones still rely on an external keyboard because it meets the user’s demand more than the default keyboard. Even the number row was not added by Apple developers, as the user of the (stupid) Apple keyboard must move every time he wants to write a number. I say stupid because it does not keep words in its dictionary, and its prediction feature is almost non-existent.

Hi Nki Nttan 🙋‍♂️, It seems you're having some trouble with Apple's default keyboard. I understand your feelings; you're not the only one who gets frustrated when you have to navigate between numbers and letters. 😅 But, have you read the new leaks about iOS 19? The report suggests that the default keyboard will get a visual update, with a more rounded design and transparent effects. Maybe this change is just what you've been looking for! 🚀🍎

Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings, the glass system or transparent appearance for myself I find it very beautiful and I hope that the leaks are real or honest :) This system was present in Microsoft Windows 7 and I loved looking at it because I find it really beautiful and adds beauty to the windows and pages on the laptop or desktop, if we remain alive until that time God willing we will see 😅

The biggest promise in it is... round transparent icons.!!

I don't consider circular icons to be something new, but they have been around since the days of the seventh generation iPod nano. If circular icons are adopted, I don't rule out that they will be applied to systems such as iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS, as happened in iOS 7, with a comprehensive change to the icons.

Welcome Ahmed 🙋‍♂️, your observation is absolutely correct. Circular icons are nothing new and have appeared on Apple devices before. However, it seems that Apple is seeking to bring back this idea with a new style in iOS 19. I agree with you. If these changes succeed, it is very likely that we will see circular icons invade the rest of Apple's operating systems. Let's wait and see! 🍏🔮😄
