15 Amazing Features in Apple's Notes App You May Not Know About

Did you know that the Notes app on Apple devices can do more than just write and save your thoughts? In this article, we'll explore some amazing new features in the Notes app that will help you organize your life easily and creatively!

Get started quickly with Quick Note

If you're in a hurry, you can quickly open a new note from the Control Center on your iOS 18 or later device. Just swipe down from the top-right corner, tap the + icon, and add a "Quick Note." You can then type whatever you want, and it will automatically be saved in the Notes app.

You can also create a quick note directly from another app like Safari by sharing the content and choosing Add to Quick Note, making it super easy to save links or ideas while browsing.

Protect notes with a secure lock

To protect important information, notes can be locked with a password, device code, or even your face or fingerprint. Simply open the menu in any note and select the lock option, and only you will be able to open the note after verifying your identity.

Provide fresh display options for your notes.

You can view your notes in a traditional list format or switch to gallery mode, where notes appear as thumbnails with text and images added to them. This makes it easier to find your note in a more visually engaging way!

View all attachments in one place

Do you store images or files in your notes? You can easily view all these attachments by clicking the menu and selecting View Attachments. Here, you'll see all the images and files you've attached to your notes gathered in one place.

Organize your notes better with subfolders.

For better control over organizing your notes, you can create subfolders within other folders. Simply drag and drop a folder into another folder, and you'll have more organized space to accommodate your various ideas and projects.

Easy sorting of your notes

Within any folder, you can choose how to arrange notes: by last modified date, created date, or note title. You can also sort them from oldest to newest or vice versa to suit your workflow.

Share your thoughts with friends

You can share an entire folder or individual notes with your friends or family. Choose who can view or edit notes, as well as who can reshare them. This makes teamwork and planning much easier.

For example, my wife and I share notes about household requests.

Add hashtags for smart organization

You can place a hashtag like #assignments or #projects anywhere within the text, and the notes will become associated with that tag. You can later tap the tag to view all related notes, making it easier to search and organize.

Smart folders based on tags

Did you know that you can create smart folders that automatically group notes containing specific tags? This way, you don't have to manually add notes; everything you add that contains that tag automatically enters the folder.

Create to-do lists easily

From Phone Islam: Showing three screenshots of the Apple Notes app with a checklist of New York landmarks; one shows the keyboard, the other shows it in some selected items, highlighting the features of the Notes app and the ease of organizing information.

The Notes app can easily transform into a to-do list app. Simply open a note and tap the check mark to start creating a list. When you complete an item, tap the circle to indicate it's done. Completed items will move to the bottom of the list.

Scan documents and photos directly into your notes.

Instead of taking and saving photos, you can use the document scanning feature within the app. Simply open a note, tap the menu, then select Scan, and the photo or document will be added directly.

You can edit and write using Apple Pencil.

From Phone Islam: The Notes app screen on an iPad shows handwritten text reading "LIVE LONG AND PROSPER" on the right, with note folders and a list of notes on the left. Drawing tools and other features appear at the bottom.

If you're using an iPad with Apple Pencil, you can write your handwriting in Notes, and the app will automatically convert it to editable text. With new tools like the Red pen with a calligraphy effect, your creative writing becomes more engaging.

Use Notes on Apple Watch

Did you know that you can now use the Notes app on your Apple Watch? You can easily create new notes or view existing ones by typing, speaking, or drawing with a tap on your watch.

Artificial intelligence elevates your notes

From the Phone Islam website: Four screens on an iPhone display a note with the ginger marinade recipe in Apple's Notes app, along with editing options and the Grammarly writing tool interface. The recipe text appears in both its original and revised form.

With iPhone 15 Pro or later, the Notes app includes AI features that help you proofread, rephrase, summarize, and even convert handwriting into organized text. You can also use ChatGPT within the app to quickly write drafts or new ideas.

Turn your hand drawings into stunning images.

The Image Wand feature lets you turn random drawings or scribbles into professional artwork. Draw a circle around your drawing, type a description, and the app will generate various images that fit your idea for you to choose from.

Have you tried using the Notes app with these features? Which feature did you like the most and why?

Your talk is in one valley and the truth is in another valley. We did not find anything noteworthy from this. Simple notes, like Google Keep, and this is better than it. Google Keep is easy and clear. As for Apple’s notes, they are different.
