In this article, we'll review the top five features of iOS 26.1 that you'll be able to experience soon. Apple is likely to release iOS 26.1 in late October or early November.

Change how alarms and timers stop

In the iOS 26.1 update, the way to turn off an alarm or timer on the Lock screen has changed. You can no longer simply tap to turn off an alarm. Instead, you have to swipe (swipe) to turn it off, reducing the chance of accidentally turning it off. If you want to snooze an alarm (snooze the sound), you can press the snooze button normally.
New languages for Apple Intelligence and direct translation on AirPods

Apple Intelligence will support new languages, including Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese, Swedish, Turkish, Traditional Chinese, and Vietnamese. Live translation on AirPods will also be available in additional languages, including Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Chinese variants.
Control Apple Music songs by swiping

Do you like to control songs easily? In the iOS 26.1 update, you can navigate between songs in the Apple Music app simply by swiping left or right on the song title. This is a quick and easy way to control music without the need for multiple buttons, and is very similar to navigating websites in Safari.
Create custom workouts in the Fitness app

The Fitness app now lets you create your own custom workout! You can specify the type of workout, the calories you want to burn, the expected level of effort, as well as the duration and start time of the workout. This feature helps you organize your workout to suit your needs and interests.
Visual adjustments to the Settings app and home screen

Now in the Settings app, text and icons have been moved to the left instead of the center. This change is most evident in important sections like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Cellular. The same change has been made to folder names on the Home screen.

Where it now appears on the left. This new design makes the display neat and tidy.

The phone's keyboard also now uses Liquid Glass technology for numbers. It seems Apple will try to make the entire system consistent in the next update.
