Setting reminders as alarms will be included in the upcoming iOS 26.2 update.

A major update to Apple's operating systems is coming soon, and the highly anticipated iOS 26.2 update, currently available to developers (in beta), introduces a new optional feature that gives the Reminders app a more focused and clearer alert system. When you need to avoid missing a crucial task, you can now set an alert that functions just like a regular morning alarm, complete with a snooze button and a swipe-to-stop option.

From PhoneIslam: Two smartphones running iOS 26.2 display a "feed the cat" reminder set for 2:30, one displaying a "feed the cat" reminder at 2:30, and the other displaying a "feed the cat" reminder in the notification center.

Reminders differ from traditional clock app alarms by highlighting the snooze button in a striking blue color, making it easy to identify the type of alert when it's triggered. Users can also replace the snooze button with a "completed" button on the alert screen, instantly marking the reminder as a finished task.

Activate the alarm feature to apply reminders

From PhoneIslam: The iPhone screen displays the Reminders app settings, highlighting the "Alerts" option which has been toggled to easily set reminders, alarms, or alerts on the iPhone.

Before using this feature, the Reminders app must be allowed to access your iPhone alarms:

◉ Open the settings app on your device.

◉ Scroll to the bottom of the list and press Apps, then Reminders.

◉ In the “Allow Reminders to Access” section, activate the Alarms option.

Create a reminder with an alarm

After activating the required permission, setting up an urgent reminder becomes simple:

◉ Open the Reminders app.

◉ Create a new reminder or choose an existing reminder.

◉ Press the information button ⓘ next to the reminder.

◉ Activate the Time option and set the alarm time.

◉ Turn on the Urgent button to activate the alarm.

When the set time arrives, your iPhone will sound an alarm with snooze and swipe-to-stop options. If you dismiss or snooze the alarm, additional notifications will appear allowing you to complete or reschedule the reminder. Note that selecting "Complete Reminder" opens the Reminders app, where you'll need to tap again to confirm completion. These alarms work even when Focus mode is enabled or the device is on silent.

Show the "Completed" button in reminders and alarms

From PhoneIslam: The smartphone screen displays a reminder set to 16:35, with "Complete" and "Stop" buttons below the time - demonstrating how easy it is to set reminders using the "Complete" and "Stop" buttons.

The experience of urgent reminders can be simplified by replacing the snooze button with a direct button to complete the task:

◉ Open the Settings app.

◉ Go to Reminders, then Apps, then Reminders.

◉ In the “Urgent Reminders” section, activate the Complete for Alarm option.

This setting allows you to dismiss reminders instantly from the notification screen without needing to open the app, making it ideal for quick tasks that need to be completed immediately. Apple is expected to release the final version of iOS 26.2 in December.

On Samsung, this feature is located within the alarm settings themselves, and you can choose the date you want. I don't know why on iPhones they complicate everything; they should have integrated this feature into the alarm app like on Samsung phones—it would have been better and easier.

A commendable effort, always moving forward.

Finally...
I was relying on calendar alerts, but they were inconvenient and activating them required concentration.
I hope the reminders are simple and clear.
Example:

Reminder title
Today
الساعة
Repetition

It should be in clear and large print.

This update will be a minor one, not a major one. If update 26.2 was a major update, then what would update 27 be called? 🤔
