iPhone basic camera settings for better image quality

From PhoneIslam: The iPhone screen displays iPhone camera settings options for photos, including switching between photos in portrait mode, lens correction, lens control, macro control, saving photos to the Photos library, and lens cleaning tips. Discover the secrets to taking professional-looking photos.

The first secret to professional photography lies in the settings. The iPhone camera is packed with advanced options, but most people leave them at the default settings. Let's change that!

FirstTurn off Lens Correction: This feature crops edges in ultra-wide shots to correct distortion, but turning it off preserves the full frame and original details. For example, when shooting a wide landscape, you'll get a more comprehensive image without losing any parts.

SecondDisable Prioritize Faster Shooting: This option is useful for sports, but turning it off prioritizes high quality over speed. You'll notice a huge difference in the clarity of everyday photos.

From PhoneIslam: The two iPhone settings screens; the left screen shows the "iPhone Camera" selected in the settings, while the right screen highlights the "Prioritize Faster Shooting" toggle, revealing one of the secrets to shooting professional shots with precise settings.

ThirdTo use the compositing tools: Activate the Grid and Level tools in your camera settings. The Grid helps apply the rule of thirds, dividing the frame into three parts horizontally and vertically, and positioning the subject at the intersection points for more engaging images. The Level ensures straight lines when photographing buildings or landscapes.

From PhoneIslam: The screenshots show iPhone settings with "Camera" selected, and camera settings with the "Grid" option turned on - a simple photography secret trick to help you take professional shots using your iPhone camera.

FourthlyManual control in macro mode: On models such as iPhone 13 Pro and above, you can manually allow macro to capture minute details such as dewdrops on a rose or the texture of food.

fifthSave settings: Keep your filters and exposure adjustments ready every time. For professionals, ProRAW on compatible iPhones retains more data for later editing. If space is a concern, try JPEG XL Lossless for the perfect balance between size and quality.

With these simple settings, the iPhone camera is ready for creativity!

Privacy protection and image data management

Before sharing your photos on Instagram or WhatsApp, remember that every photo carries metadata such as location and time. This could reveal your home location!

Remove location dataIn the Photos app, go to “Privacy” and turn off automatic location sharing.

Data reviewPress and hold on the image, then click on “Details” to check and delete.

Imagine sharing a picture of food from your favorite restaurant; it could reveal your exact address! These steps protect you without affecting image quality.

Editing techniques that transform your photos into works of art

Taking photos is 50%, editing is the other 50%. Use the built-in Lightroom or Photos app for stunning results.

Cutting for a better fit

Start by cropping to highlight the subject. Try aspect ratios like 16:9 for a cinematic look, as seen in photos of expansive beaches.

Advanced Lightroom Tools

◉ Theme mask: Artificial intelligence automatically identifies the theme to modify the background without touching it.

◉ Curves: Fine-tune the brightness and shadows to restore lost details.

◉ Color combinations: Change skin tones or sky shades for a natural look.

◉ With ProRAW, you can easily revive shadows or highlight bright spots.

Creative effects with Live Photos

Transform live photos into long exposures of cascading waterfalls or city traffic. Apply presets for consistent colors, then adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation.

Example: A nighttime photo of city streets with dazzling car traffic, looks like a professional job!

Practical photography tips for perfect shots

Now, let's move on to the photography itself. These tricks will make your shots stand out.
