It seems Apple has finally decided it's time to adorn our faces with something smarter than ordinary sunglasses. According to the latest leaks, the company isn't working on just one model, but testing four different versions of smart glasses. The goal? To make you look stylish while AI algorithms analyze everything you see. Apple is betting on premium design and high-quality materials to outshine everything currently on the market.

Luxurious materials and diverse designs
According to Mark Gurman in his recent newsletter, Apple doesn't use the cheap plastic found in competing glasses. Instead, the company relies on high-quality acetate, a material known for its durability and luxurious feel that evokes the Apple brand. The idea is for the glasses to be a luxury accessory before being a technological device, not just a heavy piece of plastic on the nose.

The models currently being tested include four main designs that ensure satisfaction for all tastes, confirming that Apple cares about the overall appearance as much as it cares about the technical specifications:
- A large rectangular frame reminiscent of the famous classic Ray-Ban glasses.
- A thinner rectangular design, very similar to the glasses worn by Tim Cook, Apple's CEO.
- Large round or oval frames for lovers of a modern look.
- A smaller, more delicate round or oval option for those who prefer a calmer look.
Artificial intelligence in your eyes
These glasses won't just be lenses for seeing; they'll work seamlessly with the iPhone and Siri. They'll use computer vision technology to interpret what the user sees and provide contextual information through Apple's intelligence system. Imagine looking at a landmark or a product in a store, and Siri instantly giving you all the details without you even having to take your phone out of your pocket.

As for the camera system, leaks suggest Apple is leaning towards using oval-shaped lenses oriented vertically and surrounded by warning lights, a design that completely distinguishes it from the circular design seen in Meta's glasses. Apple wants these glasses to be the new "icon" in the world of wearable technology, with color options including black, ocean blue, and light brown currently under consideration.
When will we wear them?

If you're eager to order them now, you might want to hold off and save your money. Apple is expected to unveil these glasses in late 2026 or early 2027, with availability later in 2027. These glasses appear to be a cornerstone of Apple's new AI-powered wearables strategy, which may also include AirPods with built-in cameras and a smart necklace with a camera.
