Since Apple released the first developer beta of iOS 27, iPhone users have been eagerly trying out every new feature. Despite the abundance of impressive new features, one subtle aesthetic change has particularly excited many: the ability to dramatically shrink the lock screen clock and move it to the widgets section at the top, allowing your device's stunning wallpapers to shine unobstructed.

Why did this simple change receive so much praise?
It might seem strange at first glance; why would anyone want to make the clock so small that it's barely visible? The answer lies entirely with "wallpaper lovers"! Previously, a large clock obscured the details of your favorite photos, whether it was a breathtaking landscape or a picture of your loved ones. Now, this option gives you complete freedom to view your wallpapers without any visual clutter.

In addition, iPhone users have consistently demanded more customization options. While Apple still has a long way to go to achieve complete freedom, this move demonstrates that the company is finally listening to its user community, which is eager for change and a simpler aesthetic.
How to make the lock screen clock smaller in iOS 27?

To experience this feature, you'll need your device to be running iOS 27 (currently available as a developer beta, with the public beta approaching). Once your system is set up, follow these steps:
- Open an app Settings On your iPhone.
- Scroll down and press Wallpaper.
- Click on Customize Below is a preview of the current lock screen.
- Press the clock to open the panel Font and colors.
- Click on New minimize icon (The button that looks like a small square frame in the upper right corner of the panel).
The clock will then instantly shrink and reappear next to the date in the top toolbar. Always remember that iOS 27 is still in beta, so we strongly recommend backing up your data before trying any of these features to avoid unexpected technical issues.
