Hi
* Peace be upon you, brother Tariq

Please introduce yourself to the reader, and can you speak Arabic?
* My name is Zuraimie Ismail and I live in Singapore. I am 36 years old. I cannot speak Arabic.

Are you the first to work? Quran program for iPhone? And when was the date of publication?
* Yes, praise be to God, the Holy Quran program for iPhone is currently the first in the world. We want to prove to the world that Muslims, like everyone else, are looking for advancement in technology.
* The Holy Quran Program for iPhone was launched for the first time on October 22, 2007.

How quickly did I manage to create a powerful program like this when programming the phone at the present time is not easy?
* I started developing programs for the Holy Quran for handheld computers since 2001. I started developing programs for Palm devices as a hobby and then developed for programming on different operating systems. So far I have completed the following projects:

A- The Holy Quran of the Palm
B- The Holy Quran for Windows Mobile
C- The Holy Quran for Windows XP / Vista
D- The Holy Quran for Windows Vista sidebar
E- The Holy Quran for mobile online (online version)
And - the Holy Quran for iPhone and iPod touch

We know that you were able to place the Quran among the main sources for downloading programs on iPhone that are supported by a group STE PackingDid you find it difficult to convince them to host an Islamic program?
* Your question is really cool. You can read some other reactions from the community towards STE at this site. But STE thank God is very nice and I have hosted the app without even a mention of race or religion.

Do you have plans to create other Islamic programs for the iPhone phone, such as a program for prayer times or other useful programs?
* God willing, when I raise enough money for the R&D fund, I would like to program a package of Islamic applications.

Do you want to add more about your journey as a non-Arab Muslim in developing Islamic programs ??

* My journey to develop mobile software such as the Holy Quran started about 7 years ago. You see, I was one of the illiterates in reading the Qur’an. This is because in this part of the region that I live in, and also in Southeast Asia, we Muslims do not speak Arabic. We speak Malay and English.
So we learn to read the Qur’an when I was young, but I found it difficult to understand how to read the Qur’an. I can only remember some of the chapters for daily prayers and some supplications.
Then, only a few years ago, I decided that I would be able to read and understand the Qur’an. Since I loved technology, I bought Palm. So I went to search for software and Islamic programs all over my country for the Palm OS, and unfortunately I did not find it, so I went to the following conclusion: All software developers assume that 1 billion Muslims in this world speak Arabic, and this means that the interface will be Arabic and this is difficult for a beginner like me. So why don't I develop a Quran program that works on the Palm environment and that I believe that I can learn faster because the device will always be with me, and I can learn to read anytime and anywhere, in the office, on a train, etc. as such, and this provides comfort And easier access. It can never come true with traditional medium paperback books.
So I decided to develop software from scratch. I made sure that the Arabic text was large and clear. And also a voice so that I can repeat and learn the pronunciation, and also a translation to recognize the words, as well as translations in English and Malay for each verse. With all these features, I will, God willing, be able to learn to read the Qur’an. Alhamdulillah, now by using the software on these mobile devices, I can read the Holy Quran easily. But I am confident that receiving from a Sheikh is better to study deeply and learn Tajweed. Thank god. I'm still learning but making progress.

As I indicated, this is my view and I want these programs to help eradicate illiteracy for the Holy Qur’an (especially for Muslims who do not speak Arabic). I'm sure there are more and more people like me who are illiterate but want to learn the Quran. I want to provide a way for them to use the latest technology to learn to read the Quran using my product.

I even have a vision to manufacture an inexpensive tool with my country and provide them with software and give it to our future generations. This vision is called (The Digital Quran for Every Child), so that they can learn to read the Qur’an. You can read more Here :

Now all of these software that you can use weren't possible. I had a vision, an idea and a determination to complete the project. But this project is a huge task and it is really huge like a mammoth, to do this alone and there is no way I can complete all this project without the proper funding for the development of this project. I need material support for R&D, outsourcing, sourcing, manpower etc.

I tried to knock on several doors, asking some Muslims in the area's companies for financial help. But I was away all the time.
And everyone was only interested in the financial return from the project.

I was frustrated. Until I met a businessman from Malaysia. You would like to please me financially. That is why most of these projects have been completed. I used up his money and even used most of my savings, but I am very satisfied that I was able to get the project done.
Moreover, most users of Islamic software assume that Islamic software is free and should be provided free of charge. Unfortunately, they do not realize that innovations and ideas need financial support to make them a reality. Otherwise, it will only be an idea.

God willing, I will always pray to God to grant me strength and good health to continue these small efforts for the benefit of the nation in this digital age.

Thank you very much, brother for your time.
