It seems Apple has finally decided that the time has come to adorn our faces with something smarter than just ordinary sunglasses. According to the latest leaks, the company is not just working on one model, but is testing four different styles of smart glasses. The goal? To make you look stylish while AI algorithms analyze everything your eyes land on. Apple is betting here on luxury design and high-end materials to outperform everything currently on the market.

Luxury Materials and Diverse Designs
According to Mark Gurman in his latest newsletter, Apple is not using the cheap plastic we see in competitor glasses. Instead, the company is relying on high-quality “Acetate,” a material known for its durability and luxurious feel that screams “Apple” from afar. The idea is for the glasses to be a luxury accessory piece before being a technical device, rather than just a heavy piece of technological plastic on the nose.

The models currently being tested include four main shapes that ensure all tastes are satisfied, confirming that Apple cares about the overall look as much as it cares about technical specifications:
- A large rectangular frame reminiscent of the famous classic Ray-Ban glasses.
- A thinner rectangular design, very similar to the glasses worn by Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.
- Large circular or oval frames for fans of the modern look.
- A smaller, more delicate circular or oval option for those who prefer a subtle look.
Artificial Intelligence in Your Eyes
These glasses will not just be lenses for vision; they will work in amazing integration with the iPhone and Siri. The glasses will use “computer vision” technologies to interpret what the user sees and provide contextual information via the “Apple Intelligence” system. Imagine looking at a tourist landmark or a product in a store, and Siri gives you all the details immediately without you even having to take your phone out of your pocket.

As for the camera system, leaks indicate that Apple intends to use vertically oriented oval lenses surrounded by indicator lights, a design that distinguishes them completely from the circular design we see in Meta’s glasses. Apple wants these glasses to be the new “icon” in the world of wearable tech, with color options currently under consideration including black, ocean blue, and light brown.
When Will We Wear Them?

If you are excited to order them now, you might want to slow down a bit and save your earnings. Expectations suggest that Apple may unveil these glasses at the end of 2026 or early 2027, with them becoming available in the market later in 2027. It seems these glasses are the cornerstone of Apple’s new strategy for AI-powered wearables, which may also include AirPods equipped with cameras and a smart camera pendant.
