Apple officially announced its all-new home device, HomeView, today, making a strong entry into the world of smart displays after much anticipation. The device combines a 7-inch square touchscreen with an advanced speaker, serving as a control hub and personal assistant for every family member in the heart of the home, with Apple’s signature focus on the highest standards of security and privacy.

Modern design and a Liquid Retina display that adapts to your room
The HomeView device features a 7-inch square Liquid Retina display, mounted on a domed speaker base via an elegant stainless steel hinge that allows you to tilt the screen to your preferred viewing angle. The display supports True Tone technology with brightness reaching up to 500 nits, and it can dim impressively down to just 0.3 nits, making it perfectly suited for use as an alarm clock on a bedside table without causing any eye discomfort during sleep.

The desktop version of HomeView is available in four sophisticated colors that harmonize with your furniture and home decor: Silver, Starlight, Soft Pink, and Space Gray, catering to various tastes and corners of the home.

Wall-mounted version and advanced mounting options from Schneider Home
In addition to the desktop version, Apple unveiled a special version designed for wall mounting, available in Silver and Space Gray. This version is designed to integrate seamlessly with home walls via three specialized mounts developed in partnership with Schneider Home, with the option for self-installation or professional assistance.

Mounting options include the Power Mount with a USB-C connector starting at $59.95, the Power Mount AC that connects directly to electricity for $79.95, both available for order today via the Apple Store. In early 2027, Apple will also offer a Power Mount PoE option for network cable connection at $129.95.
Artificial intelligence and an interface that changes based on your proximity
The HomeView interface is distinguished by its ability to adapt intelligently based on your distance from the screen; when you are standing across the room, the screen displays summarized, clear information that is easy to grasp at a glance, and when you approach it, it immediately reveals deeper and more precise details. The device also recognizes family members through their faces, displaying personalized content and data for each person in apps like Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders, and the Find My app.

The device comes powered by an all-new version of the Siri AI voice assistant, featuring advanced conversational capabilities and extensive knowledge, in addition to awareness of what is displayed on the screen. When paired with devices that support Apple Intelligence features, the assistant can leverage your personal context from the calendar and apps to provide highly accurate and relevant answers.
Pricing and availability
Apple has opened pre-orders for both versions, the desktop with its speaker base and the wall-mounted version, starting at $299 via its official website and the Apple Store app, with official deliveries to customers beginning on November 13th.
