Just days before its highly anticipated official arrival, the Geekbench 7 performance testing platform has revealed the first results for Apple’s upcoming foldable phone, the “iPhone Duo,” showing figures worthy of a heavy-hitting flagship device. The new leak confirms that Apple has not resorted to scaling back the phone’s hardware capabilities for the sake of thinness or the foldable design; instead, it has equipped it with the full power of the cutting-edge 2nm A20 Pro chip, matching the computational strength of the traditional powerhouses in the “iPhone 18 Pro” family without any compromises.

Numbers Reveal the Truth: Geekbench 7 Results

The device was spotted in the Geekbench 7 databases under the internal identifier (iPhone19,4), running iOS 27.1, scoring 3,986 points in the single-core test and 11,067 points in the multi-core test. These results match the recorded data for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max with striking precision, dispelling concerns that Apple might have lowered clock speeds to avoid the thermal challenges of a foldable design.
The technical test report showed that the A20 Pro processor in the iPhone Duo includes 6 central cores with a base frequency of up to 4.93 GHz, which are the exact same specifications as the Pro series. Regarding RAM, the platform revealed 11.30 GB of actual memory available to the system, which officially translates to the device being equipped with 12 GB of RAM, ensuring exceptional efficiency for AI tasks and heavy multitasking.
2nm Architecture: An Engineering Leap Led by the A20 Pro

The A20 Pro chip relies on the latest silicon advancements thanks to 2nm manufacturing precision and carries an advanced 7-core graphics processor. Apple’s official figures confirm that the chip offers a notable increase in CPU speed of up to 20% compared to the previous A19 Pro generation, while graphics capabilities jump by a massive 40%, although this early test was limited to the CPU and did not yet measure graphics speed.
Although benchmark results may vary slightly from one test to another, recording such a strong figure on the first attempt demonstrates the chip’s stability. This leap in efficiency translates to super-fast processing of complex daily tasks while maintaining highly controlled power consumption, thanks to the ultra-precise 2nm transistors.
The Real Challenge: Real-World Testing Between Two Screens and Cooling

With theoretical test results being equal, the real test for the iPhone Duo experience lies in real-world performance under constant pressure. Foldable phones inherently impose complex challenges in thermal management and heat dissipation due to their ultra-thin structure and the motherboard being split across two halves connected by a precise hinge.
Added to this challenge is the presence of two integrated screens—an external display and a wide internal one—which puts extra pressure on graphics processing and power consumption compared to traditional single-screen phones. However, the energy-efficient A20 Pro architecture suggests that Apple has developed a smart formula that ensures the processor is not throttled under heavy use for long periods.
The Countdown Has Begun: Pre-order and Launch Dates

There isn’t long left for those waiting to own Apple’s first foldable phone; pre-orders for the iPhone Duo officially begin on Friday, October 16, with shipping and in-store availability starting the following Friday, October 23. It is clear that Apple is keen to provide a flagship experience without any hardware compromises from day one.
