Apple may require a waitlist for revolutionary Siri features in iOS 27

It seems Apple loves to keep us in suspense, and perhaps test our patience too! According to the latest reports, you might have to sign up for a new digital waitlist if you want to experience the revolutionary Siri features coming with iOS 27 later this year. Yes, just like when AI features were first launched in 2024, it appears Apple prefers to put us in digital queues before letting us experience the future of AI on our devices.

Waitlist for Siri features in iOS 27

Siri as a beta version and an expected queue system

Apple's smart assistant Siri

According to a Bloomberg report, the completely redesigned personal assistant is currently undergoing intensive development behind the scenes, internally classified as a beta version and serving as an initial preview. Since the software for this advanced system is still under active development and continuous improvement, Apple is seriously considering using a queue and waitlist system to manage the gradual rollout of these advanced features to users, ensuring there is no sudden strain on its servers.

This strategy is not new to Apple; it has successfully implemented it in the past to alleviate the burden on infrastructure and avoid any technical issues that might dampen user enthusiasm. This fully revived voice assistant carries the internal codename “Campo” and is designed to act as a comprehensive AI companion that handles tasks rather than just being a simple tool for executing traditional voice commands.

Super-intelligent capabilities and a brand-new user interface

With iOS 27, Apple will finally fulfill many long-awaited technical promises. Siri will be able to analyze live information displayed directly on your screen, securely access your personal data via your Apple account, and delve deep into various apps to perform highly complex tasks, such as checking for calendar conflicts before confirming a new appointment, or drafting a detailed email based on the context of previous conversations and local notes.

These super-capabilities will be accompanied by a clear visual revolution, as Siri will shed the traditional glowing orb in favor of an elegant dark interface that slides seamlessly from the Dynamic Island. When swiping down from the top-center of the screen, a brand-new panel called “Search or Ask” will appear, providing a highly advanced web search experience created by Apple to deliver smart summaries and results organized in bullet points and rich images directly within the interface without distracting you.

A standalone chat app for all your devices and absolute privacy

Also new is the integration of this interface with a completely standalone chat app similar to leading smart platforms. Your conversations with this app will be synced across your various Apple devices via your iCloud account, meaning you can start a conversation or inquiry on your iPhone while you are out, then return and continue it seamlessly from where you left off on the Mac in your office.

From Phonegram: The smartphone screen shows shortcuts for directions, music, sharing ETA, and a search bar on an orange and yellow gradient background, now seamlessly integrated with iOS 27 to enhance convenience.

As long as it concerns Apple, privacy is not a marginal feature but a fundamental pillar. Therefore, the new system includes advanced settings that give you full control to delete your conversation history automatically; you can set the assistant to clear history automatically after 30 days, a full year, or choose to keep it forever, just like the standard message retention options in the operating system.

Siri everywhere and relying on the intelligence of others

Apple is striving to make Siri an integral part of every move you make on your device. When selecting or highlighting any text in any app on iOS, an “Ask Siri” option will immediately appear, allowing you to send this text for analysis or processing with extreme speed. Additionally, the keyboard will feature a dedicated button labeled “Write with Siri” to help you generate text and edit its phrasing with the touch of a button.

Although Apple will rely partially on Google’s Gemini technologies to power certain search features, it will give you full freedom to send complex questions and inquiries to other external AI models and apps, such as ChatGPT or Claude, allowing you to benefit from the best digital minds in one place with the highest possible levels of security.

Apple is scheduled to officially unveil iOS 27 and its stunning features during the highly anticipated WWDC26 conference in its keynote on Monday, June 8th. So, get ready for a unique experience, and perhaps to sign your names in the long queue!

What do you think of Apple’s move to impose a waitlist to experience the new Siri features? And will you rush to sign up immediately? Share your thoughts in the comments!
