When Apple unveiled the iOS 27 update, AI-powered features and the upgraded Siri stole the spotlight entirely, which is completely natural and expected. But as Apple has always accustomed us, the real fun lies in the details; there are many small, wonderful changes and features that didn’t get enough focus in the keynote, but they will change our daily interaction with iPhone devices. In a detailed press release, Apple highlighted 12 new features coming to your favorite apps like Maps, Find My, Wallet, Apple Music, and many others. Let’s review them together with some detail and analysis.

Apple Maps and Find My: Visual intelligence and greater freedom in sharing your location

The first notable highlights come in the Apple Maps app, which received a stunning visual upgrade thanks to AI and visual intelligence features. The famous Flyover feature now offers high-precision details for supported cities, where you can see the finest details, from the shape of individual trees to the reflection of light on the glass of skyscrapers.
In addition, Maps users in the United States get the “Local Lists” feature, which intelligently suggests the most popular places such as restaurants and destinations suitable for families and children.
As for the Find My app, it has finally shed its annoying old restrictions. Previously, you were limited to sharing your location for only three specific options: one hour, until the end of the day, or indefinitely. In iOS 27, you can now set a custom duration with the exact precision you want—for example, you can share your location for exactly 4 days and 6 hours! Not only that, but you can now pause sharing your location with specific people until the end of the day without having to cancel the sharing entirely and then re-enable it later.
Apple Wallet and Smart Payments: Goodbye to complicated bill splitting between friends

Have you ever gone out with friends and stood confused in front of the bill to determine each person’s share? Apple offers you the magic solution in iOS 27 through the smart bill-splitting feature powered by Apple Cash and AI. By pointing the iPhone camera at the paper bill using the new Siri mode, the system will automatically recognize the items and prices. All you have to do is select your items, and the system will calculate your share with extreme precision, including taxes and tips, and then pay immediately, saving you from complex calculations.
The Apple Wallet app has also received features that make your daily life easier; you can now create custom passes just by scanning any physical card that contains a barcode or QR code using the camera and Siri mode, to instantly turn it into a digital card ready for use in your wallet.
The digital hotel key experience has also been improved to offer you continuous details and updates about your trip, booked activities, and services available during your stay.
When shopping online, you will notice a completely new design for the Apple Pay checkout process that allows you to swipe quickly to navigate between your different cards while displaying detailed information such as reward balances, debit accounts, and available pay-later options.
For small business owners, the new Tap to Share feature allows sharing shipping information, email, and loyalty points securely just by bringing the iPhone close to the merchant’s device.
Photos and Entertainment: Shared albums without limits and better musical harmony

In the Photos app, shared iCloud albums received a long-awaited upgrade; they now support sharing photos in full resolution and various file types, with support for emoji reactions.
Most importantly, friends who do not own Apple devices can now join and contribute to these shared albums via the web easily and without any technical obstacles preventing them from documenting moments with you.
Music and podcast lovers also have a fair share; the new “Search within the program” feature in the Podcasts app allows finding specific episodes with amazing speed.
In the Apple Music app, the AutoMix feature has been upgraded to offer smoother and more professional musical transitions similar to the work of professional DJs to make the listening experience more immersive and enjoyable. To broaden cultural horizons, the song lyrics translation feature has been expanded to include seven new language pairs, allowing you to understand global music more deeply.
iOS 27 is currently available as a developer beta, and the public beta is scheduled for release next July, with the final official update arriving for all users in September as usual with the launch of the new iPhone phones.
