Leaks reveal iPhone 18 Pro dummy units in a new Dark Cherry color

Annual color leaks for iPhone devices are a sacred ritual for tech enthusiasts, and while rumors always oscillate between fact and fiction, it seems we have received our first near-realistic look today at what the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro colors might look like. Recent leaks have long focused on a dark red as a sophisticated new option, but thanks to a new photo leak of the phone’s dummy units, we now have a more tangible perception of these exciting colors.

Leaked iPhone 18 Pro dummy units

Dark Cherry and Light Blue… New colors stealing the spotlight

Renowned leaker Sonny Dickson, known for his strong ties to supply chains, has posted images of metal and plastic dummy units for the iPhone 18 Pro. These images show two brand-new color options: the first is “Dark Cherry” and the second is “Light Blue,” alongside the potential return of a dark black and the classic silver.

From Phonegram website: Four iPhone 18 Pro smartphones in white, purple, blue, and black stacked on a wooden surface to show the elegant triple rear camera units.

The dark red or cherry color is no stranger to the rumor mill; previous leaks in late 2025 indicated that Apple was working on different shades of red, such as “Burgundy.” Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman later confirmed that the company was testing three different shades of red to reach the final result. It seems Apple is betting heavily on this new color, especially in Asian and specifically Chinese markets, where red is considered a symbol of luck, joy, and prosperity, which could easily make it surpass the popularity of the “Cosmic Orange” color Apple introduced in the iPhone 17 Pro.

Comparing colors with official Pantone shades

Proposed Pantone color shades for the iPhone 18 Pro

These leaked images align closely with a report published by Macworld last April, which accurately identified the four color shades for the iPhone 18 Pro using official Pantone color codes:

  • Dark Cherry: Pantone 6076 C
  • Light Blue: Pantone 2121 C
  • Dark Gray: Pantone 426 C (appearing as a substitute for black)
  • Silver: Pantone 427 C

However, we must keep in mind that these dummy units were not manufactured by Apple itself; they are typically produced by case manufacturers based on leaked CAD schematics from factories. This means that even if the colors are theoretically accurate, the materials and finishes used in the final manufacturing by Apple (such as titanium and treated glass) will give the phone a much more brilliant, deep, and attractive appearance than what these dull plastic dummies show.

History of dummy unit accuracy: Can we trust them?

iPhone 17 Pro Max dummy units from last year

Looking back, we find that Sonny Dickson shared dummy units for the iPhone 17 Pro last year that were surprisingly accurate in predicting the colors, showing the deep blue and the initial version of the Cosmic Orange. At the same time, however, those images included a black dummy unit that was never released to the market.

Furthermore, those dummies were completely wrong in predicting the structural change of the phone; they did not show the shift to the unified aluminum body and two-tone glass back, but rather looked like a replica of the iPhone 16 Pro design with only an expanded camera bump. Therefore, while these images give us an excellent glimpse into the general direction of the iPhone 18 Pro colors, the precise technical design and the final brilliance of the colors remain a secret known only to Apple’s closed laboratories.

What do you think of the new Dark Cherry color? Do you prefer it over the classic colors?
